Zedekiah Josiah Moses, of Prior Lake, passed away on January 14. A Funeral Service will be held at Ballard-Sunder Funeral and Cremation in Prior Lake on Monday, January 24 starting at 2pm. A Celebration of Life will take place before the service from 12:30-2:00. The graveside service at Spring Lake Cemetery will take place following the funeral service.

On April 8, 1994, Timothy and Sharon (Trout) Moses gave birth to their sixth miracle, Zedekiah Josiah Moses. Zed, as he was known by most, or Kiah/Ki, as his siblings called him, was a pure joy and blessing to his family. From a very young age, the family could tell that Ki was going to add some excitement to the family. He was walking at 10 months old and riding his bike shortly after. Next, off came the training wheels, and he was making homemade ramps in the driveway. It takes a village to raise a child, and luckily for Zedekiah, he had such a caring, loving family.

There was never a dull moment with Kiah growing up. He was always busy and left others in his dust. He was fearless, sometimes too fearless, and would plunge into anything headfirst without a doubt. Kiah was a guy’s guy, but don’t let that tough guy exterior fool you. He had a kind heart, and if his family ever needed him, he was there. He grew up to be a good ol’ boy who was very handy. He was always willing to help out, and put others’ needs even before himself. Kiah remained a kid at heart. He was so much fun to be around and made others feel like a kid again. People felt comfortable around Kiah because of his easy-going, laid-back personality. He was lighthearted, humbled, and had a witty sense of humor.

Zedekiah attended and graduated from Prior Lake High School in 2012. He dreamed of following in his dad’s footsteps, who he admired so much. He wanted to grow up to be an Electrician just like his dad. Ki started the electrician trade by working under him. After his father passed away in 2014, Kiah went to work for his Uncle Steve at Mettler Electric, where he continued his electrical career. Ki was so excited to be working for a family member and he knew his dad would be so proud.

When you work hard, you play hard, and Kiah lived by this motto. Growing up, he loved tinkering with anything that had wheels. Skateboards, bicycles – you name it. He enjoyed taking things apart, improving them, and putting them back together. As Kiah grew up, his tinkering habits never changed, only what he tinkered on. The skateboards and bikes turned to trucks, four wheelers, and RC cars. Kiah lived in the fast lane and never dreamed of slowing down.

To the Mosi, as the siblings call themselves, family has always been everything and more important than anything, and Kiah was no exception. He was a loving son, brother, and uncle. He would do anything for his family. His mom and siblings meant the world to him, and they always ensured Kiah knew he was so loved. The sudden tragedy of Kiah’s passing will forever leave a hole in everyone’s hearts.

Zedekiah will be forever loved and cherished by his Mother, Sharon (Gary) Miller; Siblings, Amber (Brandon Randklev) Moses, Zachariah (Cindy Randall) Moses, Azure (Jerrod Bessermin) Moses, Zephaniah Moses, and Ariel (Shawn Bennett) Moses; Step Brother Scott (Christine Goss) Miller; Nieces and Nephews, Cherish Christensen, Arianna Long-Moses, Harmony Christensen, Vivian Bessermin, Caleb McHale, Elias Bessermin, Isaiah Bessermin, Abram Bessermin, Ezekiel Bessermin, Sadie Randklev, and Elle Randklev; Grandparents: Larry (Beverly) Moses, Jeanne Larson, Harold (Papa) and Joyce (Nonnie) Trout, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. Zedekiah is greeted in heaven by his loving Father and best friend, Timothy Moses.

I always saw Zed as a person whom made the people around him better. Whether that be through his many skills or talents or just because he was the type of friend that people felt great and happy to be around. Such a wholesome, genuine and caring person every single time. He is loved by so many of us.
