Todd Allen Hektner, age 62, of Prior Lake, MN, passed away on Tuesday, April 25, 2023. Liturgy of the Word will be held at 4:00 PM on Friday, May 5, 2023, at Ballard-Sunder Funeral & Cremation (4565 Pleasant St SE, Prior Lake) with Fr. Matthew Quail presiding. A Time of Gathering will be held prior to services from 2:00 – 4:00 PM.
Todd was born on March 19, 1961 in Minneapolis, MN to Robert and Shirley (Nelson) Hektner. The youngest of three siblings, Todd grew up and attended school in Edina, eventually graduating from Edina East. Following High School, he attended Hennepin Tech for some time in graphic design, before starting his career in the hearing aid industry, working for Danavox and Starkey Laboratories. Later on, Todd drove trucks for various companies for many years before eventually settling into a job at O’Reilly Auto Parts.
Todd was blessed with three children and spent a majority of his life living in Prior Lake, MN. As a family, they loved to race dirt bikes and go on annual trips to Millville, MN for the Motocross Pro Nationals and to Caledonia, MN to fish for trout. Todd passed on many of his passions and hobbies to his children and grandchildren, including skating, Motocross, and Fishing. He was proud to be an Edina Hockey Alum, and was an avid supporter of the Northstars and the Wild. Todd also loved to take care of his lawn and garden. He was very crafty and enjoyed tinkering on various projects, including his DIY milk carton greenhouse.
Todd will always be loved and missed by his children, Patrick Gramenz, Ashley (Shawn) Dahl, and Christopher (Stephanie) Hektner and their mother, Dana Galush; grandchildren, Leyton and Grady Dahl, and Caleb and Chace Gramenz; siblings, Scott Hektner and Lorri (Bruce) Wilson; significant other, Brenda Adelman; and other nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Shirley.
