Tanya Marie (nee Weber) Wheeler, age 53, passed away in her home on Wednesday, September 29, 2021. A celebration of Tanya’s life will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, October 8, 2021 at Ballard-Sunder Funeral & Cremation, 833 Marschall Rd, Shakopee, MN 55379. Visitation will be held one-hour prior to services. Masks will be REQUIRED for all attendees and social distancing maintained. Tanya “T” Marie was born on August 20, 1968 to Thomas and Linda (Kirchoff) Weber. The oldest of two siblings, Tanya grew up in Cannon Falls, MN with her brother, Anthony. Together, the family enjoyed hunting and being outdoors. Tanya was active in sports and loved to sing from an early age. After graduating Cannon Falls High School in 1986, she attended college at Inver Grove Community College before moving to Washington for a short time. When she moved back to Minnesota, Tanya began her career in retail in the south metro, working for Alamo Care Rental and ABRA Autobody before eventually spending 16 years at Marketplace Liquor in Savage, which she loved dearly. Always socializing, she could talk to anyone and never missed a chance to chat.
Tanya’s life was enriched when she met her best friend, Scott Wheeler. After dating for some time, they were united in marriage in Hastings, MN on February 29, 1992, a leap day. Scott and Tanya were blessed with two children, Jason and Jordan. Tanya had special relationships with both her daughter and son, raising Jason as her own when Scott came into her life. Together, they loved to travel as a family, going to Florida every year and later in life, traveling all over the world to places like Australia, Singapore, Spain, Dubai, and others. Tanya loved boating and going to the Campground with her family. She made sure they were on the road by 2:10PM sharp every Friday in the summer to get to the campsite, despite Scott not always being ready. If an activity had anything to do with socializing, Tanya was there. She loved to play cards, shop with her daughter, get her nails done, and enjoy playful banter with Scott.
Later in life, Tanya was blessed to be a grandma. She loved holding the babies, and always made sure gifts were given when they visited. “Gigi” always had a bag of gummy bears and a hot-wheels monster truck ready to go for the kids.
Tanya was always there when you need her. She was kind, free-spirited, and laid back. A witty story teller, with a touch of stubbornness and great sense of humor, Tanya will be greatly missed by her loving husband and best friend, Scott Wheeler; children, Jason (Catie) Wheeler, Jordan Wheeler; grandchildren, Aiden and Cohen Wheeler; father, Tom (DeAnn) Weber; mother, Linda Weber; and many other loving family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her brother, Tony Weber.

I had met Tanya many years ago by visiting Savage Liquors but was truly blessed in getting to know her better over the past year of working with her. She so adored all of you and will be missed by all that knew her. She was so pleased with that necklace you had just gifted her. Your love was special!

I am so sorry Scott, prayers to you and your family-
Scott, I am shocked and overwhelmed by the news of Tanya’s loss. I know she loved you very much, and will be greatly missed. The two of you had a very special bond that not many people are able to experience. You were very lucky to have had the many years and joys that you were able to share.
I especially remember how much she loved to hold my puppy, Ruby when she was the “liquor store dog.”
My prayers are with you and your family during this difficult time. Bless you all and know Tanya will always be with you in your hearts.
With all of my heart I cannot express the loss of my dear friend Tanya. She loved me and I loved her and we would share moments of complete laughter together She would always say to me that she was a plethora of useless information but I always found it entertaining. We would laugh together watching stupid B movies and dance as if no one was watching. I am devastated by the loss of my best friend and will miss her smile. I love you Tanya and rest in God’s loving arms.
T was certainly one of a kind! <3 She & I worked together at Savage City Liquor for 16 years and my heart was so heavy when I heard of her passing. She had a way of being a friend to everyone & is sorely missed by current (& former) staff, salespeople & the customers she encountered everyday. She certainly loved her family & her face lit up when we'd talk about our grandkids. T loved traveling with you, Scott & the two of you went to SO many amazing places! The store is just not the same without her here. God Bless you & the rest of the family. You are all in my thoughts & prayers daily.

T was a one-of-a-kind: funny, good natured, and always ready to talk about family and vacations. She made me laugh and was as willing to trust as listen. She will be deeply missed by everyone who knew her.
Though, I have met Tanya only a few times, she welcomed our daughter, Catie into her family with open arms and a warm heart. Every time I saw her, she had a smile. This loss of Gigi, who was so special to her grandsons, Aiden and Cohen, is heartbreaking. We are forever indebted to her for the love and kindness she has given Catie and the boys, and for the beautiful job she did as the bonus Mom to Jason.
Scott, Jason, Jordan and family, I am heart broken to hear of T’s passing. Loved seeing her at Marketplace when we’d do shift change on Friday’s Wonderful woman, may she rest in peace and watch over you all.
T was a wonderful women to work with. It was a pleasure to know her over the 4 years I worked with her. She will be missed by all that knew her. I enjoyed our talked together during work. She was such a bright spirited person. To the family I’m very sorry for your loss. You are all in my thoughts.

It was sad to read about Tanya’s passing. I went to school with her in Cannon Falls (her father was one of my favorite teachers) and Inver Hills, and she was always very nice. My thoughts and prayers are with her family.
