Suzanne “Sue” Flink, 80, of Jordan, passed away on November 14, 2023. A Visitation for Sue will be held on November 29, 2023, at Ballard Sunder Funeral Home in Prior Lake (4564 Pleasant Ave) from 4-7pm. The Funeral Service for Sue will be November 30, 2023 at Friendship Church in Prior Lake (17741 Fairlawn Ave) at 11am, with time for visitation prior from 10-11am. Pastor Art Hanson will be presiding. Sue will be laid to rest in Glen Haven Cemetery in Crystal, MN.

On September 16, 1943, Sue was born in Minneapolis, MN to parents Herbert and Beatrice Blanchard. Sue spent her early years growing up in the twin cities. She attended and graduated from Robbinsdale High School She worked at First National Bank and attended classes at the University of Minnesota.

Sue met the love of her life, Peter, through the military’s pen pal program. One of her friends had received a letter from Peter and she threw it in the trash. Sue was upset that her friend would do such a thing and took the letter out of the trash and decided to write Peter back. The pair continued to send letters to each other until Peter returned home from his deployment. They dated for 3 years before getting married on December 7, 1967 during a white-out blizzard.

Sue and Peter started their life together in Crystal and were blessed with 2 children; Thomas and Kelley. Their house quickly became the place for neighborhood kids to hang out. They never knew how many mouths they would be feeding for supper, but they wouldn’t have had it any other way. IN 1994, Tom and Sue purchased a hobby farm in Jordan, MN where she had an Arabian horse and other pets. Sue and Peter owned and operated the Shell Service Station in Prior Lake for 30 years. Sue helped at the station during the “old timers shift” on weekend mornings. Her line was always the longest since she had to catch up with all of friends and neighbors. Their house in Prior Lake became the home for all the families Holiday Get Togethers. Sue loved the holidays and tried her hardest to make each one special for her family. When Sue wasn’t working at the station or spoiling her grandkids, she enjoyed knitting, quilting, and embroidery. She knew her way around a sewing machine. She made quilts and donated them to service men. She also liked attending classic car functions and the state fair.

Loving, friendly, and caring, Sue will be missed greatly by her Husband, Peter Flink; Son, Thomas (Jessica); daughter, Kelley (Brian Buckman) Flink; Grandchildren Michael, Andrew, and Ada; Siblings, Kathy Moore-Huber, Judy Beam; and many other loving relatives and friends. Sue is preceded in death by her Parents, Herbert and Beatrice Moore; and their Baby Boy Flink.
