Sue Youngman Goetz, of Lino Lakes (formerly of St. Croix Falls, WI), passed away peacefully with her family by her side the afternoon of Saturday, November 5, 2016 at the age of 67. A visitation will be held on Friday, November 11, 2016 from 4:00 – 7:00 PM at the First Presbyterian Church (719 Nevada Street) in St. Croix Falls, Wisconsin. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, November 12, 2016 at 2:00 PM with visitation one-hour prior at the First Presbyterian Church in St. Croix Falls, Wisconsin. Reverend Barbara Anne Keely will preside, and Jameson Kahl, Mike Goetz, Nick Warke, Bryan Brown, Lacy Wittman and Neil Toenjes will act as pallbearers for Sue. Honorary pallbearers are Brett Brown, Andrea Diamond and Jenna Wittman.

On March 15, 1949, John and Gloria Brown celebrated the birth of their daughter Susan Lynn Brown. Sue was the middle of three children and loved growing up with her brother David and sister Nancy. The Brown family moved around a lot over the years. This allowed their family to develop a very close bond. At a young age, Sue’s mom and grandma taught her to sew. From that point on, Sue was a very talented seamstress. She made many of her own clothes and even made some special outfits for her little sister too.

After graduating from Cameron High School in 1967, Sue attended UW Stout. She was studying to become a Home Ec. Teacher, but Sue left school to care for her family. Sue was blessed with a daughter, Jennifer and was instantly a wonderful mother. Sue and Jennifer lived in East St. Paul, and Sue worked for MN Mutual. Sue was a hard worker and received a number of promotions throughout the 15 years she spent with the company. After her time at MN Mutual, Sue began working for ITP and also spent many years there. She eventually retired from Thermal Plastic Design (TDI).

While living in St. Paul, friends introduced Sue to Dean Youngman. After a couple of dates, Sue and Dean hit it off. Their love grew, and they were married on September 9, 1978. Dean and Sue settled in St. Croix Falls where they raised Jennifer, Eric and Stacy. As a family, they enjoyed camping, fishing and going to car races. Sue was the ultimate caregiver. She was a loving wife and wonderful mother. Sue also took wonderful care of her extended family when they needed her. Sue cared for her mother, father, step-mom, grandparents and even helped out with nieces and nephews when her siblings needed a break. Sue always put others before herself and was so generous with her time.

Sue’s world was turned upside down when her husband Dean passed away suddenly on June 3, 2008. But Sue was a strong woman and with the support of family and friends she made it through this difficult time.

Sometime later, Sue’s former coworker introduced her to a man named, Joe Goetz. Instantly, Joe and Sue knew they had a special relationship. Soon they met each other’s children and grandchildren. Their love grew deeper every day and on July 18, 2015 they exchanged wedding vows surrounded by family and friends.

Joe and Sue were so happy and were fully enjoying retirement. They did a lot of traveling and took many road trips. Sue even became a “Harley Chick” and enjoyed going for rides with Joe. Sue also spent a lot of time with family. She never missed a chance to babysit grandkids or attend their events. In her spare time, Sue enjoyed sewing, crafting and watching HGTV. Sue loved shopping and was always hunting for a bargain. Sue was also an excellent cook. She was famous for her cheesy potatoes, Sue’s Salad and Spritz cookies.

Sue was such a kind and loving woman. She was always quick with a smile, and her smile lit up the room. Sue will be deeply missed and remembered always by her loving husband, Joe Goetz; children, Jennifer (Donald Kromrey) Kahl, Eric (Bobbi Fjorden) Youngman and Stacy (Jamie Booth) Youngman; Joe’s children, Maryrose (Nick) Warke and Mike (Callie) Goetz; grandchildren, Jameson, Josey, Riley, Easton, Ashlyn and Miles; siblings, David (Wanda) Brown and Nancy (Bob) Wittman; other loving relatives and many dear friends. There to greet Sue in Heaven are her husbands, Dennis Stanley and Dean Youngman; parents, Gloria and John (Artis) Brown.

I thought of Sue as a very good friend. We kinda lost touch when she moved to Lino Lakes but she was on my mind a lot. We had a lot of good times with her, Dean and the kids. I will miss you lots. Love you girl.

In this time of sorrow, may these promises from the Bible comfort Sue’s dear family. Jehovah God is close to the brokenhearted, and he will wipe away the tears from all faces. Psalms 34:18; Isaiah 25:8 NWT. Peace be with you.

Sue and her family were among our very first family friends of memory. I remember playing with Sue often as my parents and her parents John and Gloria were good friends and got together frequently. I have such a fond memory of Sue–her quiet, calm voice and demeanor, sweet smile. For a time she lived down the street, Day Road in St. Croix Falls, from my mother and when I was home would often see her and how happy she was. I am truly saddened by her passing. RIP, old friend. Sending up thoughts and prayers to her loved ones, Would love to be at my “home” church for the celebration of her life but was unable to pull it together from Boise in time.
