Steven “Sam” Samuelson, age 74 of Prior Lake, MN passed away at home on January 3rd 2024.
A celebration of life will be held on Tuesday, April 16th at Prior Lake VFW 16306 Main Ave SE, Prior Lake, MN 55372 from 2:00-5:00 p.m.
Private interment with military honors will be held at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
Steven “Sam” was born on November 3rd, 1949 in Eau Claire, WI to Martin and Ethel (Brenizer) Samuelson. The youngest of three boys, Sam grew up in Edina and graduated in 1968 from Edina High School. Sam enlisted in the United States Navy and spent time in Vietnam on a destroyer, the U.S.S. Hull. Sam was very proud of his military service.
Sam moved to Prior Lake in 1977 and in 1989 married his second love Laurie (his first love was cars)!
Sam loved drag racing, sports, building model cars, spending time at their cabin in Lake Shore, MN and across country road trips.
He is survived by his loving wife Laurie, brother Tom (Pat) Samuelson, nieces, nephews, and many friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Martin and Ethel, brother Roland and sister-in-law LouAnn.
