Shirley Jean (Kardack) Schnacky, age 85 of Prior Lake, MN passed away peacefully on January 28, 2023.
A time of gathering will be held in Shirley’s honor on Monday, February 13, 2023 from 2-4 PM at Ballard-Sunder Funeral Home, 833 S Marschall Rd, Shakopee.
Family was very important to Shirley. In her spare time, she kept busy with her grandchildren; making sure to be active in all their lives and creating a special bond with each of them. Her love for them was endless. Shirley was a great friend to everyone she met, and she never forgot a birthday or anniversary. She loved Elvis, bowling, camping, fishing, feeding the ducks in her backyard, crafting, and large family gatherings for the holidays- Christmas was her favorite!
She always worked jobs where she could interact with people. She even owned her own diner called Shirley’s Diner in Minneapolis. She made friends wherever she went. After retirement, Shirley started doing daycare, and loved being a “grandma” to all of her students. She had many stories to share, and always had a smile on her face.
Shirley will forever be missed by her children, Carol (John) Johnson, Janet Thompson, Leonard (Leslie) Schnacky, and David (Linda) Schnacky; 6 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; siblings, Sharon Klingberg and Michael Prekker; and many other relatives and friends.
She is greeted in heaven by her daughter, Mary Schnacky; mother, Isabel Prekker; brother, Robert Kardack; and great-granddaughter, Cameran Henjum.

To Shirley’s family…..she was a great lady and will be forever in my heart.
Sorry for your loss. Your mom was such a nice person and a great friend to my mom. I will always remember working one summer at the dinner with her.
Sorry for your loss. We have known each other since our teens. Shirley lived, with her Grandfather, across the street from me. I still can’t belive she is gone. Our hearts and prayers are with all of you.
