Scott A. VerHey passed away unexpectedly at the age of 57. Scott was born on March 12, 1957. He was the only child born to Donald and Doris VerHey. Growing up in the Hollandale and Albert Lea area, Scott loved water skiing and was one of the first members of the Albert Lea Water Ski Club. He was a talented athlete and earned a football scholarship from Iowa State. He continued his education receiving a Bachelors in Political Science at Pepperdine University in CA and later earned his Master’s Degree in business at St. Thomas University. Scott put his education to good use. He worked in sales for many years and excelled in this area. Scott married the love of his life, Connie, on June 21, 1986, and they were blessed with a beautiful daughter, Preslee. Scott was a loving father and husband. He especially liked taking his daughter snowmobiling and motorcycling. They also enjoyed watching movies together as a family, and Scott passed on his love for vampires and classic horror films onto Preslee. Scott will be deeply missed and forever loved by his wife, Connie and daughter, Preslee. A private family remembrance will be held in Scott’s honor at a later date.

My deepest sympathies go out to Scott’s family. I was a fellow sales person with Scott at Alpha Video and though I only knew him a short time, it was clear what a loving person he was.

Scott was a great guy. We didn’t know each other well in high school but reconnected a year or two or ago so I had the opportunity to get to know him again. A funny guy with a big heart, I will miss him. Condolences to his daughter and wife…. Jill
Scott and I were good friends throughout High School. We played a lot of football together and had many good times. We would re-connect every now and then through out the years. He was a good man in many ways. Condolences to the entire family…my thoughts and prayers are with you all…Garry

I so loved stories of Connie jumping out and scaring Scott, of his trip down the stairs, his escapades with Erik and Doug snowmobiling and waterskiing. Scott cut a spray on one ski that shared the thrill and love he had for the sport. His knowledge of the English language and mastery of it in great conversation, his love of great books and his kid-like delight in scary movies endeared him to me forever. His love and pride of Connie and Preslee, priceless. Condolences: sharing the best of your loved one and gentle comforting hugs, always.

Scott and I were buddies in high school and played football together, I feel badly we did not stay in touch after that. We did became Facebook friends a few years ago and I was able to see that classic Scott acerbic wit and his love for his family was very obvious. I was a better person for knowing him and I send my deep condolences to the family at your loss.

My prayers and deepest sympathy go out to you. I only knew Scott briefly from working with him at Alpha Video, but he was always one to carry a bright smile and kindness wherever he was. He was a good person, and he will be greatly missed!!
