Rosemary Strack, of Jordan, passed away the afternoon of June 22, 2015 at the age of 85. Mass of Christian Burial is Friday, June 26, 2015 at 11:00 AM with visitation from 9:30 – 11:00 AM at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Jordan. Father Timothy Yanta will preside. Rosemary will be laid to rest at St. William’s Catholic Cemetery in Foxboro, Wisconsin.

On November 10, 1926 in Eden Valley, Minnesota Jacob and Margaret (Meis) Moser celebrated the birth of their baby girl, Rosemary Catherine. She was the youngest of four children and the only daughter. Rosemary loved growing up in the rural community of Webster, Wisconsin where her family lived on an old farm. She attended a country school just down the road from her home and completed the tenth grade.

When Rosemary was a teenager, her mother was in the hospital. Rosemary needed a ride into town to visit her mother, but the only person she could get a ride from was her brother’s friend, Lawrence Strack. Rosemary wasn’t very fond of Lawrence, but she wanted to see her mother, so she took him up on his offer. During those trips into town a friendship blossomed between the two and eventually a deeper love grew.

Lawrence and Rosemary exchanged wedding vows November18, 1946. They settled in Superior, Wisconsin and were blessed with eight wonderful children, Larry, Jim, Debbie, Karen, Mike, Terry, Dennis and Jenny. While Lawrence was working hard to support their family, Rosemary was caring for the children and taking care of the house. She was the ultimate caregiver and homemaker. When the kids were young, Rosemary was involved in Cub Scouts, 4H, Christian Mother’s Group, and the Secular Franciscans. She also helped put on the annual Ham Dinner at St. William’s Catholic Church.

In the mid 1970’s, Lawrence’s work brought their family to Jordan, Minnesota. Rosemary’s world was turned upside down when her husband and love of her life passed away on July 3, 1978. Rosemary missed Lawrence deeply, but she was a strong woman and had the support of her family to get her through life’s challenges. Rosemary still had three children at home to support, so she got a job outside the home. She worked for a local company called Northland and also got a job making stuffed animals in Chanhassen. Rosemary’s favorite job was working for Deli Express in Eden Prairie. She worked there for many years and eventually retired from Deli Express.

During retirement Rosemary was able to spend more time pursuing her interests. She loved playing cards and was a member of a number of card clubs throughout the years. Rosemary was a talented sewer and very skilled in the art of crocheting. She made many wash clothes and afghans over the years. Rosemary also loved to cook and bake. Some of her famous dishes were Shepherd’s Pie, Lemon Meringue and Butterhorns. Although Rosemary had many hobbies, the most important things in her life were family and faith. She especially loved being a grandma and great-grandma and treasured the time she spent with her family.

After years of health issues, Rosemary went to be with the Lord. She passed away peacefully at St. Gertrude’s with family by her side. She will be deeply missed and remembered always by her loving children, Larry (Carol) Strack, Jim (Ruth) Strack, Debbie (David) Zell, Karen (Randy) Nevela, Mike (Darlene) Strack, Dennis (Jean) Strack, Jenny (Ken) Lehnen; daugther-in-law, Cindy Strack; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; other loving relatives and friends.

There to greet Rosemary in Heaven is her husband, Lawrence; son, Terry; parents; brothers, Martin, Peter and Lawrence.

The Strack family is served with honor, care and compassion by Ballard-Sunder Funeral & Cremation.
