Peggy A. Hartman, aged 67, of Chaska, MN, formerly of Jordan, MN, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Friday, October 27, 2023, at the Belle Plaine Lutheran Home, in Belle Plaine, MN.

A time of gathering will be held on Monday, November 6, 2023, from 4-7 pm, and on Tuesday, November 7, 2023, from 10-10:45 am, with a celebration of life at 11 am, all at Ballard-Sunder Funeral & Cremation, 833 South Marschall Road, Shakopee. Reverend Eric Zacharias will preside.

Peggy was born on January 28, 1956, the first of 3 children to parents Jerry and Allene (Laumeyer) McHale. She grew up in Hopkins, MN, where Peggy graduated from high school. In her childhood, Peggy spent most of her time with family. Peggy loved the gatherings at the cabin at Dancing Waters Resort in Longville, MN or at her grandparents’ farm in Long Prairie, MN. Peggy was extremely close with her cousins growing up and even into her adult life. Shortly after Peggy graduated from high school, she went up to Bemidji State University to further her education. Eventually, Peggy came back home to start her rewarding career and her beautiful family.

Peggy was an extremely hard worker. She accepted a position with Lake Region Manufacturing in Chaska, where Peggy stayed for 42 years! Peggy was an employee from the early inception of the company. During her career, Peggy worked in various positions, with her last years as a Regulatory Specialist.

During her time at Lake Region Manufacturing, Peggy was blessed with three beautiful children, Joe, Molly, and Chelsea, whom she adored. Peggy raised her kids in Jordan, where she became a pillar in the community. Peggy loved attending her children’s various sports and activities while they were growing up. When Peggy wasn’t at her kids’ different school functions, she would be with her friends either bowling, playing wallyball, or softball! Of course, Peggy always made sure to put her family first. When her kids were young, Peggy enjoyed teaching them card games including cribbage and pass the card. When they weren’t playing cards, they’d be at the cabin or going curling together.

In 1997, Peggy met her life partner Doug Elliott, while at work and hit it off from there. The next 26 years, they had many great adventures filled with trips to Mexico, up to the cabin, and of course more sports events.

Peggy started a new chapter in life when she became a grandma! Like most grandparents, Peggy wore that title with pride and doted on her grandchildren. Peggy was always ready to babysit and of course go to all their sports events or school functions. Family was her world and Peggy loved them deeply, almost as much as she loved the Minnesota Twins team and being Irish!

Peggy’s giving, thoughtful, and loving nature will be forever missed by her children, Joe (Jenny) Hartman, Molly (Brian) Buetow, Chelsea (Brandon) Zabel; grandchildren, Jamison, Hannah, Olivia, Brecken, Lachlan, Bailey; siblings, Beth (Quinn) Moynihan, Pat (Laura) McHale; life partner, Doug Elliott; and many other loving relatives and friends

She is preceded by her parents, Jerry and Allene McHale.

Words cannot express my deepest sympathies to the entire family. Peggy was an amazing, funny, caring, outgoing person who made everyone around her feel welcome and appreciated. She played hard (thank God) but loved even harder. May the memory of her laugh always be in your ears, her smile in your heart, and her love in your soul. God’s love and strength be wrapped around you. Love always, Kelly
