Nancy Wharton, age 84, of Prior Lake, MN, passed peacefully on Wednesday, December 14, 2022.

A Time of Gathering will be held at Ballard Sunder Funeral Home in Prior Lake (4565 Pleasant St.) on Saturday, February 4, 2023 at 10am. A Celebration of Life will follow at 11am. After the conclusion of the service, a luncheon will be held at The Pointe in Prior Lake (16691 State Hwy 13, Prior Lake, MN). Gracing this world on September 28, 1938, in Minneapolis, MN, Nancy Lou was born to Clarence and Esther (Hake) Scherer. She married Marlin Wharton on November 23, 1957, in Minneapolis, MN. They settled in Prior Lake, where they raised Michael and Wendy.

Nancy is survived by son, Michael (Julie) Wharton and their children, Mason (Renee) and Casey; daughter, Wendy (Bill) Appenzeller and their son, Zachary; other relatives and friends. Greeting her home in Heaven is her husband, Marlin; parents, Clarence and Esther Scherer; brothers, Bob and Kenny, and other family members.
