Condolence from Mary Koenig on February 13th, 2016 10:50 am

I had the divine privilege of serving Nancy for six months as one of her personal care attendant’s (PCA’s). During my initial morning shift on my way to her home, being the “directionally challenged” person that I am, unable to find my way, I almost turned around and headed back home; however, I felt my inner spirit nudging me to keep driving and I would eventually be to my destination. Consequently, I was about 15 min. late upon arrival. Nancy (and Kevin) graciously greeted me with a smile and welcomed me into their lovely home. Each & every time thereafter upon arrival during my shifts, It was Nancy usual & rudimentary custom to greet anyone who entered her home with a “whohaa” or “yeah”, regardless of how she was feeling. Every time I had the privilege to serve her, I was inspired by her DEEP faith in God, TRUE love of nature, and most importantly love for her family, friends, and to all those who crossed her path to assist with her tremendously courageous battle with ALS. Each time/day/hour, I served Nancy, was a joyous time. She so graciously appreciated each & everyone of her PCA’s, right down to the smallest thing, she would never forget to say “thank you”. There were multiple times while serving Nancy, when she would say, “it”s not about me”, and “my home is yours”, “everything is better shared”. She was always concerned if I had eaten, and had a “breather”.

I would like to give a “shout out” to her three sons, Nate, Kris, & Josh. Wow, you guys truly rock!!! Your daily acts of kindness, love, & concern were truly “mind boggling”. And finally, Kevin, thank you for being a faithful husband, in so many ways.

Although, Nancy, is not physically present, her spirit, her life, her love, and what she stood for, will forever remain in my heart, never to be forgotten…Mary

One more thing, that I failed to mention is Nancy said that her “PCA’s were hand-picked by God”. I was deeply touched by her comment…. and believe she was right!

Ben, Becca and I all have fond memories of Nancy and your family. We so enjoyed the open invitation given us from Kevin and Nancy to visit your horses. We’d take many walks down the street to your home to feed them carrots or apples. Most times getting to also visit with Nancy and Kevin and the boys. I learned so much from Nancy as she shared her faith, child rearing and gardening tips.
Ours prayers of comfort and peace for you all.
Love, Lori & Joel Reed, Ben and Becca Grunst

I only met Nancy a few times but those times impacted me as I witnessed the love, peace and grace of a woman who walks with God. I know she is walking with Him now in a place of glory and joy that we can only imagine.

I am so sorry for your loss, I remember your mom and I going to treasure Island Casino, since we both worked at Mystic and couldn’t gamble there, She always made me laugh when we went, due to her not understanding how to wager on the slot machines, then we would have lunch and catch up on everything. Gamble a little more and then go home. She loved you all so much and was so proud of all of her son’s.

Nancy was my cousin by my Dad marrying her aunt. We shared many happy times as young girls in their teens. We were the same age and shared the same problems with peers and parents! She was like the sister I never had! After moving to California, I lost tract of her but, when my brother told me of her death, the good memories came back!! Love to her family-she is with you always in spirt!

Condolence from Nancy M. Jacobsen on February 14th, 2016 9:20 pm

Precious Nancy, Always loving, caring, smiley, kind , considerate and fun to be with. We had many great conversations and times of prayer as we would get ready for our responsibilities on Sunday mornings. Those few years left a great impression on me, but our ways separated. You Josh, have been the glue and when you brought your mom with you when you were to speak for our meeting, your mom was a ray of sunshine. MY heart broke to see her in a Wheelchair. However, the peace in her face and the love that shone forth let me know she was ready to be with the Lord. I know she is whole and at peace now and I speak blessings to all of you at this time. Kevin my heart goes out to you. Jessica loved Nancy and Nancy always had a special place in her heart for Jess. We will not be able to be there on the 20th. It is our scheduled meeting for Aglow,
Our prayers are with you, Love and blessings, Nancy

Kevin ,Kristopher, Nathan, Josh My thoughts and prayers go out to all of you. Nancy was my special sister I have been thinking this past week since I learned that God had taken her home all the things your mom and I did together, the laughter and the tears as our lives grew over the years . You three young gentleman were something that your mom was very proud of. I wish I could be there on Saturday and celebrate her life on earth with all of you but I don”t believe that that is possible, as life goes on my body seems to fall apart more and more.I am so glad that your mom’s trials are over and she is with GOD and has a new body. She knew her LORD and maker and wasn’t afraid to tell one and all. GOD BLESS each and every one of you I will keep you all in my thoughts and prayers Love auntie Mar
