On September 19, 1951 in St. Paul, MN, Nancy Ann was born to proud parents Bernard and Floraine (Berthiaume) Selbitschka. She grew up in West St. Paul with older sister Betty and younger sister Cindy. From early on, Nancy enjoyed being surrounded by family and friends. She enjoyed school and was a good student. Nancy graduated from Sibley High School in 1970.

After graduation, Nancy attended St. Paul Technical College acquiring a degree as a Medical Lab Assistant. She began a lifelong lab career, first working for two private doctors’ offices. Then took a position in the lab with Aspen Medical Group in Bloomington, which later became Allina. For over the next four decades. Nancy began climbing the ladder and in later years managed three clinics. She truly loved her job and working with her colleagues. They were Nancy’s extended family.

Nancy’s life was enriched with meeting a young man named Ronald Lloyd Hunter. Both worked at Miller Hospital in St. Paul in the kitchen area. Nancy was then working in the salad department and Ron in the food service department. Dating for many years, they declared their love to each other on September 4, 1976, in West St. Paul, MN. It was the birth of their only child and daughter, Becky that truly enriched Nancy and Ron’s lives. As a wife and mother, she remained true to her heart and continued devoting her life to her family. As a family, they enjoyed attending the annual Renaissance Festival, State Fair and having outdoor picnics. The Hunter family liked attending craft shows, hunting for that next unique antique piece, vacationing in the Midwest and attending Winery’s throughout Minnesota. Countless hours were spent enjoying Nancy’s favorite past times…shopping and cooking! It was Nancy’s amazing shopping and baking skills, that eventually she passed on to her daughter and granddaughters.

In Nancy’s spare time, she enjoyed working side by side with Ron in the garden. Ron picked the vegetables and flowers while Nancy enjoyed them. She was a talented canner, with amazing salsa and pickle recipes!!! Nancy enjoyed collecting Christmas salt and pepper shakers, beanie babies and antique dolls and loved the color purple. She too enjoyed a fine glass of white wine and a good steak. But it was the holidays, that Nancy looked forward to the most bringing her family back together again! She was extremely proud of her two granddaughters, Grace and Faith. They were her pride and joy. Nancy relished attending the girls’ music programs and dance recitals.

Nancy had a deep and strong faith in her God. She was a quiet and dedicated shepherd of God, who passed on to her the family the importance of the Catholic faith.

Forever missed and forever loved is husband, Ronald; daughter Becky (Ken) Lofald; grandchildren, Grace and Faith; sister, Cindy Hoppe; brother-in-law, Allen Zellmer; niece, Sarah Hoppe; nephews, Brian Hoppe and Joe Zellmer; and many relatives and devoted friends.

Nancy was preceded in death by parents, Bernard and Floraine and sister, Betty Zellmer.
