Mary Louise Sinnen, age 84, was reunited in heaven with her beloved husband, Claude on Tuesday evening, February 10, 2015, with her loving family surrounding her bedside, at All Saints Senior Living, Shakopee, MN.

The family will greet guests on Sunday, February 15 from 3-6 pm and on Monday, February 16 from 8:30-9:30 am, all at Ballard-Sunder Funeral and Cremation 833 South Marschall Road, Shakopee. A Mass of Christian Burial will be on Monday, February 16 at 10 am, at The Parish of Saints Joachim and Anne (St. Mary) 535 Lewis Street, Shakopee. Father Peter Wittman will preside. Urn Bearers will be her grandsons, Chad Sinnen, Tony Notermann, Brett Notermann, Jason Yetter, Forrest Randall and Kyler Rosckes. Mary Lou will be laid to rest with her husband at Fort Snelling National Cemetery, Minneapolis, MN.

Francis Patrick and Ruby Leota (Crowley) O’Connor proudly announced the birth of the third of four children, Mary Lou on October 12, 1930, in San Diego, California. Moving to Minnesota when she was three, Mary Lou has fond memories growing up with her siblings, Neal and Winnie. She also remembered in spirit her older, yet baby sister, Patty Lee. Attending school in the Minneapolis area, Mary Lou moved to Shakopee in 1948 and graduated from Shakopee High School in 1949.

At the age of 20, Mary Lou followed in her mother’s footsteps, earning a cosmetology degree, in 1950 from Alice Carr Beauty School, in Minneapolis, MN. A few years later, she and her mother went into business together. Mary Lou’s father built the first salon in Shakopee and promised to name the business after her – ’Mary Louise Hair Fashions’. They expanded salons in Chaska and Chanhassen. For 63 years, Mary Lou loved the social aspect of her clients, at various salons in Shakopee. She listened to their heart aches, learned of their joys of life and created countless beautiful friendships over her career. For over 50 years, Mary Lou also had a major impact on funeral service throughout Scott County, with her craft as a hair stylist.

Mary Lou said it was her Irish luck that she met and married the man of her dreams, Claude John Sinnen. He was the handsome bus driver that took her to and from beauty school every day. But it was years later, Mary Lou and Claude met up in a coffee shop and the rest is history. On September 18, 1961 in Robbinsdale, MN, they declared their love for each other and celebrated 46 years of marriage. Together, they raised five children, Steve, Claudia, Ruby, Tim and Jon. Mary Lou and Claude also helped raised two special nieces, Laurie and Hope.

Mary Lou was extremely proud of being a devoted wife, mother, grandma and great-grandma. She always said, “Claude was a good man and husband.” They never fought, except when it came to the heated discussions on politics. Mary Lou and Claude were blessed over the years to travel all over the world; enjoying nature’s beauty and attended many army reunions of the WWII 96^th Infantry Division. It was motherhood that fulfilled her the most. As a family, they enjoyed traveling throughout Minnesota and spending nights around the motel pools. Mary Lou relished shopping at Bachman’s and decorating her home for the holidays and then celebrating them with her family. In later years, Mary Lou was again proud of being a precious grandma to 24 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren. As a blended family, she always opened her arms and heart up to anyone that came into her life.

Left to honor Mary Lou’s life and mourn the death are her children, Steve Sinnen (Deb Snyder), Claudia (Tony) Notermann, Ruby (Jim) Winings, Tim (Julie Yetter) Sinnen, Jon Sinnen; grandchildren, Chad Sinnen, Anna Tucker, Tony Notermann, Brett Notermann, Nichole Kircher, Heather Zander, Joleen Mohlin, Kaely Mohlin, Anthony Mohlin, Dayne Mohlin, Erick Mohlin, Chad Winings, Connie Habeck, Kara Yetter, Alainna Yetter, Jason Yetter, Amber Sinnen, Kyler Rosckes, Emma Sinnen, Faith Sinnen, Moyya Randall, Jennifer Schmidt, Forrest Randall, Kendra Randgaard; 25 great-grandchildren; special nieces, Laurie (Marc) Randall, Hope (Mike) Schuster; other loving relatives and faithful friends.

Preceded in death and there to welcome Mary Lou home is her husband, Claude (December 12, 2007); grandchildren, Devon Notermann and Zachary Kircher, her parents and siblings.
