Mary Ann Oldenburg, of Jordan, passed away February 10, 2024 at the age of 83.

A Christian Funeral will be held on February 16, 2024 at 11:00 AM with visitation 2-hours prior at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Jordan, 100 6th St W, Jordan. Pastor Jeremy Glowicki will preside. Mary will be laid to rest at Spirit Hill Cemetery in Jordan.

Mary Ann was born on August 28, 1940 to parents Albert and Veronica Tuma. She was born and raised in New Prague, MN. Her younger years were challenging as her parents passed away within a year of each other. When her mother was sick, Mary Ann took care of her and developed her passion for helping others. She graduated from New Prague high school and started working in the nursing field. Mary Ann enjoyed riding her horses before starting a family.

One night at Alphonso’s Dance Hall in Jordan, Mary Ann spent the night dancing with a sailor that was home on bereavement leave. His name was Lawrence Oldenburg and the two instantly hit it off and fell in love. They were joined in marriage on December 28, 1967 during Larry’s deployment in the Navy. They lived together on the various military bases that he was stationed at. Their two children were born on military bases in different countries. Once Larry was done with his service, the family moved back to Minnesota and started their life together in the Chaska area.

Mary Ann was a devout member of St. Paul Lutheran in Jordan, and she never missed a Sunday Service. She was quiet, but always had a smile on her face. When she had some free time, she enjoyed working on her cross-stitches, knitting, and working on her flower garden.

Sweet, happy, kind, Mary Ann will be missed greatly by her children; Brett (Kimberly) Oldenburg, Laurie (Michael) Olson, Brad Oldenburg, Brian (Jody) Oldenburg; grandchildren, Hunter Oldenburg, Sherman Oldenburg, Leah (Justin) Melberg, Dave Oldenburg, Daniel Oldenburg, Rita (David) Jacobsen, Dustin Oldenburg, Megan (James) Larson, Angie Oldenburg; great-grandkids, Hailey, Hunter, Dylan, Skylar; siblings, Theresa LeRette.

Mary Ann is preceded in death by her loving husband, Lawrence E. Oldenburg; parents, Albert and Veronica Tuma; and siblings, Lawrence Tuma, Robert Tuma, Evelyn Wangerin, and Elmer Tuma.
