Lyle Alton Anderson, 83, of Prior Lake, passed away while listening to his family’s lovely voices on August 28, 2021. The service will be held at Trinity Evangelical Free Church (10658 120th St. W.) in Lakeville on Thursday, September 2, 2021 at 1:00 PM. A visitation will take place prior to the funeral from 11:30 AM-1:00 PM. Pastor Don Reigstad will be leading the service.
The Frederic Wisconsin Hospital announced the birth of Lyle Anderson on March 5, 1938. He arrived at his Trade River Farm and was welcomed home by his sister Darlene. Lyle loved farm life. He attended the Trade River one-room school through the 8th grade. He attended a small country church nearby, where he invited Jesus into his life. He was baptized in the waters of the Trade River near his home.
His parents, Alton and Ruth Anderson, moved to Minneapolis where Lyle treasured his high school years at the Minnehaha Academy. He participated in sports and enjoyed the music classes that were offered to him. He sang with the Minnehaha Singers and joined the Minneapolis Choralairs after his high school days. While singing with the Minneapolis Choralairs, Lyle had the privilege of touring with the choir in Europe. He attended Augsburg College and was a participant in their choir. In 1960, Lyle joined the Army National Guard.
For 31 years, Lyle worked for Northwest Airlines as a Reservation Supervisor. After retirement, he found himself employed at MSP airport for an additional 20 years transporting passengers!
Lyle met the love of his life, Alice, when both of them were attendants in the same wedding. They were married for 61 wonderful years. Lyle and Alice were blessed with three children. Their first family home was located in Moorehead, Minnesota where Lyle worked for Northwest Airlines in the reservation area. When Lyle wasn’t working, he could be found participating in bowling and softball leagues or singing with various groups. It was here when he started leading Sunday Worship services. Lyle and his family enjoyed many camping trips; airline privileges made it possible to travel to amazing places.
Lyle was eventually transferred to the Minneapolis Northwest office and moved his family to Prior Lake. They have been here for the past 51 years. Lyle gave back to the community by serving on the Prior Lake Fire Department for 20 years; 15 of those years he spent as the Assistant Chief. He was involved in Christian music ministries and directed the choir for several years at Trinity Evangelical Free Church.
Lyle was preceded in death by his parents, Alton and Ruth Anderson, and his sister Darlene Jorgensen.
Lyle is survived by his wife Alice; children, Sherri (Mark) Vegsund, Brian Anderson, Jodi Rezachek; grandchildren, Karsten (Jenn) Vegsund, Alyse Vegsund, Camden Anderson, Carena Anderson, Brooke Anderson, and Ashley Rezachek; and neighbor friend Amy Jordan.

My thoughts & especially my prayers are with you & your family at this difficult time. Lyle was such a special guy … you both are loved by all who has ever had the privilege of knowing you. I’m sure all the Anderson’s in Heaven are rejoicing in Lyle’s homecoming. They’ve probably prepared a good potluck for his welcoming.

To the entire Anderson family….our heartfelt sympathy. Lyle was a kind man with a great sense of humor. He was a true depiction of a Godly man. Certainly he rests in the loving arms of Jesus.
Oh Alice and family. I’m so sorry to hear this news. I must say that God used Lyle successfully for so many years. My memories of church youth group trips (Lyles burgundy ford truck with matching topper loaded with kids and luggage) headed to Michigan, children’s church, and even lake fun with the glastron. Always a positive word and that great Lyle smile. I will be praying for you all as you heal.

Dearest Alice and family,
Lyle was a pillar of strength, dignity and love, a Godly man that was a friend to all he met. Randy and I are grieving in your loss, but rejoicing in the knowledge that Lyle is resting with his Lord and Savior. John and James always referred to the two of you as Trinity’s “Grandpa and Grandma”. You always made each of us feel special and loved by your warm greetings and hugs.. And the many times Lyle would see us at the airport and wisk us off to our gate always made our boys feel so special. Lyle would light up a room, always had a smile and warm sincere greeting, and his love for our Lord and Savior was always evident on his a face as he sang in the choir, especially the hymns.
We are sorry we will not be able to attend Lyle’s service, and have the opportunity to give you a big hug Alice. Please know you are in our thoughts and prayers.

Lyle was a good Christian man with values always willing to help May Lyle Rest In Peace. I worked with Lyle at Northwest Airlines.

Our thoughts, love and prayers are with you Alice and family. So many fond memories of Lyle growing up and at Trinity. A caring, giving and great Christian man! Lyle will be missed, but he is truly at peace now and in a much better place in the presence of our Lord. Sorry we will be unable to attend the funeral service but will be keeping you in our prayers!

Such wonderful memories of Lyle, ” Mr. Anderson” growing up at Trinity. No matter what age we were, we always looked forward to Sunday night’s hymns. His voice is one you will never forget.
