Kenneth “Kenny” Kauser, age 77, of Prior Lake, passed away at his home on December 14, 2022.

A Time of Gathering will be held at Ballard Sunder Funeral Home in Prior Lake (4565 Pleasant St.) on December 28th from 3-5pm. A Prayer service led by Father Tom Walker will be held after, starting at 5pm.

On November 25, 1945, Kenny was born to parents Frank and Madonna (Stowe) Kauser. They moved to Richfield where he would spend the majority of his early life. Those years were filled with dirt bikes, fishing/hunting trips with his family and friends and racing cars. He loved spending hours working on cars with his friends, paying special attention to his most favorite; His 1969 Chevy Nova.

On June 16, 1973, Kenny’s life changed for the better when he married the love of his life, Kandice (Swanson). In 1980 he pursued his dream and started his own business (Kenny’s Shoe & Leather Repair). Kenny and Kandi were both blessed to have two wonderful sons in Kenny “K.C.” and Joe.

Kenny was able to pass on his love of fishing, camping, hunting and going to car shows onto his boys. When grandchildren came into the picture for Kenny, he loved to spend time with them anytime he could. He always said, “Family is Everything”.

Selfless, strong-willed, and caring with a great sense of humor; Kenny will be greatly missed by his Wife, Kandice; Sons, Kenny “K.C.” (Shannon Goettsche) Kauser; Joe (Bridget) Kauser; Grandchildren, Teigan, Charlotte, and Murphy; Siblings, Donna (John) Nelson, Norma (Jim) Doerfler, Laura Kauser, Mike (Kim) Kauser; and many other family members and friends.

Kenny is preceded in death by his Parents; Frank and Madonna; Brother Frank Kauser.

Condolence from Carol [Swanson] Engelstad on December 19th, 2022 4:22 pm

Kenny was more than my brother-in-law, he was my friend. If anyone could be ‘over the top’ hilarious it was Kenny. When he worked at Southdale, in Edina, I used to take the bus from our house, in Richfield, just to go see him. I thought it was very cool that this guy was my brother-in-law. Kenny loved to cook so any party, at their house, was stocked with good food. I was chosen to be a part of Kandi and Kenny’s wedding. I was 12. I believe I made their wedding vows more special when I vomited on the alter. In the 50 plus years that I knew Kenny I saw him in a suit twice. His wedding and Joey’s wedding. His wedding was one of the only times I saw Kenny’s hands without dye of them. I will miss his wise cracking jokes and his stories. God Bless Kenny, I will miss you.

Kenny will be seriously missed by his family and friends. He was always ready with a joke or funny story which we all enjoyed. He also loved to cook a lot of tasty foods, so if you stopped by his shop you might get a taste. He loved cars and motorcycles and occasionally enjoyed high speed adventures that amazed all of us. It made for some very good storytelling. We enjoyed an occasional hunting adventure as well. So the world will not be nearly as fun and heaven will enjoy his hijinks. Rest in peace Kenny.

Grandpa, Oh how You will be so incredibly missed by us. Teigan keeps telling us stories of you two arm wrestling. He loved winning against you.
Him telling us stories about you I think is his way of trying to deal with you being gone..
You will never be forgotten Grandpa, your kindness, caring heart, your sense of humor (sometimes quite warped). Your guidance through anything we or I needed. You were always there for us in anyway you could be.
My favorite memory of us was in 2019 during the pandemic I picked you up for an appointment & we got there rang there bell & this woman came & opened the door & you said I’m Ken Kauser for my appointment & she looked at me & you said, this is Shannon Kauser My daughter inlaw. I looked at you & smiled Big & you said Well you basically are Shannon. I said you just made me feel so loved. I Thank You for that.
You not only stepped in when my Dad died but I thought of you as my Dad too.
I am so honored to have known you & be apart of your family Ken. You will Never be forgotten & you will Always be in my heart ❤

Condolence from Bob Utech on October 21st, 2023 9:54 pm

Hi all, I just now found out about Kenny and it wasn’t so long ago I heard about Frank. WOW. I am a friend of the Kauser family and I went to school with Mike. I was at Kenny and Kandice wedding. Kenny actually changed my life because I eventually purchased his famous Nova. Kenny sure had a nice car. I put many hours working on it and it was part of my life for many years. Thanks Kenny for being a good friend and teacher to me. Bob Utech
