Joseph “Joe” Siedow, age 58, of Shakopee, MN, passed away on May 1, 2024, with his wife, Tamera by his side. A Celebration of Joe’s Life will be held at 12:00 PM with a Time of Gathering from 10:00 – 12:00 PM on Saturday, May 18, 2024, at Ballard-Sunder Funeral & Cremation, 4565 Pleasant St SE, Prior Lake, MN 55372. Joseph Patrick was born on November 15, 1965, to Walter and Maryann (McGovern) Siedow in Shakopee, MN. Joe was the youngest of five siblings and grew up in the Shakopee area. As a family, they enjoyed many trips up north and were able to go on a special trip to Europe to visit his older brother, Mark, while he was attending classes. Growing up, Joe loved to go 4-wheeling, snowmobiling, riding his motorcycle and anything else that went fast!

He graduated in 1984 from Shakopee High School and decided to continue his education at Brown Institute, working to become a radio broadcaster. Going by “Tux Siedow”, Joe was ready to jump straight into the radio business! He was offered a job in Texas; he chose to stay in Minnesota to pursue other opportunities because he couldn’t imagine being so far away from his children Ashley and Colin and other family members. Family was always the most important thing in his life. Joe worked various jobs and eventually settled into working at Duling Optical as an optician, helping patients in various ways. He then worked with Advance Control Technologies for a time before his health took a turn.

Joe’s life was enriched when he met the love of his life, Tamera Dahlke. With his charming smile and twinkling eyes, it was love at first sight! Joe and Tamera were united in marriage on July 16, 1994at Fish Lake Immanuel Lutheran Church in Prior Lake, MN. There was never a dull moment with Joe playing pranks, especially with your shoes (to those that this happened to, you know what this means), spouting off jokes, and writing his own jokes. He was once told he should write a book! Joe was able to bring joy to everything he was a part of. As a family, Joe, Tamera, and the kids enjoyed trips together to the Wisconsin Dells, Taylors Falls, San Diego, and up north to the cabins. Once, Tamera had to travel to Nashville for work and Joe tagged along, because he knew there was an opportunity to visit the Gibson Guitar stores/factory. He loved to share his passion and interests with them, even if they didn’t pick up on it right away! He was always patient, kind, and loving. He was Tamera’s anchor and calming presence and had a “spidey-sense” of when his kids were having bad days. He made everyone in his family always feel special. When he was blessed with grandchildren, Mason, Madon, Iver, and Aliyah, it lit up his world!

Joe had a passion for animals and the outdoors. He loved all his pets over the many years, including George, his cat. He would feed the squirrels, birds, and rabbits, training them to come get food from the deck! He loved to fish and hunt as well. Joe’s main passion in life was his love for music and guitars. He collected guitars and vinyl records over the years, including one guitar he and Tamera built. He played in the band “Second Sight” with Jeff Luedloff and his brother-in-law, Jeff Dahlke. Joe enjoyed sports as well, particularly baseball and softball, and was a Shakopee JC Club board member. He was also a Minnesota Twins and Vikings fan on the TV and in the stands.

On top of all his strong passions, interests, and hobbies, Joe maintained a strong faith. He attended Fish Lake Immanuel Lutheran Church, Cross of Peace, and Hosanna over the years. He loved to dive into the bible with Tamera and was dedicated to his devotions. Despite his decades of health issues, Joe held onto a strong, independent mindset and never complained about his situation. Since 1997, he struggled with chronic kidney disease. Shortly after, Joe was given a second chance at life by receiving his first kidney transplant from his sister, Shannon. Soon after, Joe’s body started to reject the gift and found himself back receiving dialysis. In 2003, Joe received his second transplant. In the last year, Joe was working towards receiving his third kidney transplant and the dream of receiving a new pancreas. Joe’s strong faith guided him and gave him strength through his struggles and all the way to the end. Joe is all the way home in heaven, playing his perfect Guitar.

Joe will be greatly missed by his wife, Tamera; children, Ashley Manthe and Colin (Betsy) Dusterhoft; grandchildren, Aliyah Manthe, Mason Manthe, Madon Manthe, and Iver Dusterhoft; siblings, Shannon Seurer and Ed Siedow; nieces and nephews, Lance Siedow, Alicia (Kevin) Blanchard, Luke Siedow, and Danielle (William) Johnson; great-nieces and nephews, Nate, Kailey, Bexton, and Merrick; and other relatives and friends.

Greeting Joe in heaven are his parents; brothers, Mark and Dan Siedow; and nephew, Nick Siedow.
