Jordan Sampson, age 24 of Savage, MN, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, December 19, 2019.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, December 26, from 4-7PM and on Friday, December 27 from 10-10:45AM, followed by a funeral service at 11AM at Ballard-Sunder Funeral & Cremation (4565 Pleasant Street SE) in Prior Lake. Pastor Diana Hunstad will preside. Jordan will be laid to rest at St. Michael Catholic Cemetery in Prior Lake.

On March 21, 1995, in Maplewood, MN, Jordan Davis was born to John George Jr. and Nancy Ann (Stewart) Van Eck. Along with his family, Jordan lived in the communities of Woodbury, Newport, and Prior Lake before settling down in Savage.

Jordan was a hard worker and spent his career as a satellite technician. In his free time, he loved fast cars! Jordan enjoyed attending car shows, was a member of a car club, and participated in street racing. He also loved gaming and spent countless hours playing Call of Duty.

Jordan lived life to the fullest—he was outgoing, daring, and would try anything once. He relished joking around and having fun with family & friends. Over the last years, he was able to reconnect with family. Jordan had a special bond with his Aunt Suzanne Stewart-Koch and her children, Angella (Chris) Mesenbrink and Jesse (Paige) Koch. Jordan was the “fun uncle” and cherished his nieces, Savannah and Aubrey. The girls gravitated towards Jordan’s easygoing attitude.

Life was enriched for Jordan when he met Bailie Lancette. Their lives were blessed with the birth of a son, Jaxson. Jordan was so proud to be a father!

While Jordan had some tough years and made some mistakes, he was constantly striving to improve himself. He was ambitious, loving and fun. Jordan was also determined and strong willed. During the last several years, Jordan grew to appreciate his family more and more.

Forever loved, Jordan will remain in the hearts of his mother, Nancy (Lance) Hannen; son, Jaxson and his mother, Bailie; brother, Justin (Sammie) Van Eck; sister, Ashley (Brian) Van Eck; nieces, Savannah and Aubrey; grandparents, Lurvurne (Bill) Acheson; many other loving relatives and friends.

Jordan is preceded in death his father, John “Jack” Sampson Jr.; grandparents, John (Marlene) Sampson Sr. and grandfather, Kirby Stewart.

Very nice remembrance of Jordan. I’m sure he was loved by all who met him. Sudden deaths are very hard to deal with, I know-as are any deaths of a loved one. I hope that time will lessen the burden of his loss on Nancy, Lance, and all those who loved him.

My daughter was a friend of Jordan’s. He came to visit us twice at our home. I immediately liked him. His kind heart and his ability to sit down with parents and carry a conversation is almost unheard of these days. I’m so sorry for your loss. As a mom myself, I cannot begin to know the pain you’re feeling right now. I will pray for you and all those who loved him. My daughter struggled for days with the loss of her friend Jordan. She planned to attend his funeral and say her goodbyes, but the sadness was too much for her to bear. Please find some comfort in knowing there are many people who will miss his smile, his compassionate personality and his spirit! God bless you!
