Jodi Rae Engberg, age 67, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, February 3, 2023, at her home in Prior Lake, MN.

A celebration of life will be held honoring Jodi on Saturday, February 11, 2023, at 12 pm (noon), with a time of gathering starting at 10 am, both at Ballard-Sunder Funeral & Cremation, 4565 Pleasant Street SE, Prior Lake.

Jodi lived a simple and full life that all began on November 20, 1955. She was a devoted daughter to Dale and Donna (Schultz) Smiler. Born and raised in Bloomington, MN, Jodi was the oldest of three children. She was an amazing and supportive sister to Mike and Jill. Jodi was a proud graduate from Lincoln High School, in Bloomington.

Family was always important to Jodi, with motherhood at the top of her list. She adored her children, Mandy and Matt. Jodi loved watching them grow up, attending their sporting events and school activities. Life was blessed with the arrival of her grandchildren, Fisher and Kade. Jodi relished being active in their lives. She was blessed once again with the ultimate companionship and friendship of David Dennig Sr. Their love grew and on October 3, 2017, they married, in Bloomington, MN. From this union, Jodi welcomed his children and grandchildren into her life. Life was all about family and she certainly made sure she was surrounded by them.

Besides family, Jodi loved working in her gardens. She was an exceptional cook, who loved to entertain family and friends. Life for Jodi was the best with her toes in the sand or dangling in the pool and feeling the warmth of the sun on her face. She loved playing cards, going out to eat and supporting her daughter, Mandy in her business.

Forever missed, Jodi will be eternally missed by husband, Dave; children, Mandy Engberg, Matt Engberg; grandchildren, Fisher Engberg, Kade Engberg; parents, Dale and Donna Smiler; sister, Jill White; sister-in-law, Treche Smiler; stepchildren, Jen (Barry) Longhenry, Joe Dennig, Nate (Tammi) Dennig; step grandchildren, Dylan, Ryan, Cameron, Brooks; other relatives and friends.

Greeting Jodi home in Heaven is her brother, Jim Smiler; brother-in-law, Mike White and stepson, Dave Dennig Jr.
