Jeannie Reinitz, a longtime resident of Prior Lake, entered eternal life on Sunday August 2, 2020 at age 55. An outdoor funeral service will be held on Tuesday, August 11, 2020 at 11AM with seating beginning at 10:45AM at Faith Evangelical Lutheran Church, 16840 Highway 13 S., Prior Lake, MN. Pastor Stephen Schmiel will preside.

On August 3, 1964 in Waconia, MN, Jeannie Sue Reinitz was born to Wayne and Margaret (Mullins) Reinitz. Along with her siblings, Jeannie loved growing up on the family farm near Norwood Young America. She was especially close with her sister, Joyce. They each had a rebellious side and often found themselves in mischief.

From a young age, Jeannie was artistic. She enjoyed playing the clarinet, singing, writing poetry, and crafting. Throughout life, Jeannie shared these talents with others—often crocheting afghans and potholders for family and friends. In her free time, Jeannie enjoyed watching Minnesota sports, especially the Twins and Gopher Women’s Basketball.

Following her graduation from Central High School in 1982, Jeannie waitressed at the Mid-Town Diner in Norwood Young America before settling in Prior Lake in 1997. It was in Prior Lake that Jeannie found a community at Faith Evangelical Lutheran Church. She was an active member often helping at various church functions, attending bible study, and volunteering with Ladies at Faith. A generous woman, Jeannie never hesitated to lend a helping hand or dedicate her time to others. She truly had a servant’s heart.

Despite facing various health challenges, Jeannie was the rock of her family. Together they enjoyed competitive games of Scrabble and discussing books. She was word smith and put other’s vocabularies to shame! Jeannie also shared her love of true crime and mystery thrillers with her daughter Jessica. A supportive mother, Jeannie looked forward to having lunch with her son Jamie and catching up often. She called her children, mom, and other relatives daily. Through simple acts, Jeannie made everyone in her life feel loved.

While Jeannie was quiet and reserved, she made others laugh easily. Her kindness will be remembered always by those who love her. She is survived by her children, Jessica (Dan) Hoernemann, Jamie Reinitz; mother, Margaret (Dave Walker) Reinitz; brothers, Robert (Terry) Reinitz, Ross Reinitz; many nieces, nephews, other loving relatives and friends.

Jeannie is greeted in Heaven by her father, Wayne Reinitz, and sister, Joyce Bauernfeind.
