Jane Buck, aged 83, of Savage, passed away at home surrounded by family on March, 3, 2024.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Friday, March 15, 2024 at 10:30AM, with a Time of Gathering from 9:30-10:30AM, all at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 4625 W. 125th St., Savage. Following the service there will be a continued gathering time from 12-3PM at the Environmental Learning Center at Savage Community Park, 13550 Dakota Ave S, Savage, MN. Jane will be laid to rest at Fort Snelling National Cemetery with her husband.
Please wear green to celebrate Jane’s Irish Heritage.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred and will be distributed by the family to Community Action Partnership of Scott and Dakota Counties.
Jane will be remembered by her family and many friends for her love of people. She had an amazing ability to talk with people and make instant connections. This was demonstrated by her circles of friends from many different places.
After marrying her husband and best friend Robert in Mason City, Iowa, she moved to Bloomington, where they raised their 3 children. She met many important friends throughout her years in Bloomington and continued to make special friendships once moving to Savage. She truly never met a stranger.
Her energy and passion for family and spending time with her children and grandchildren was one of her highest priorities. Family gatherings at the cabin and her time on Lake Roosevelt in Outing, Minnesota, were some of her favorite moments in life.
Her love of sports was also a priority. She rarely missed her children’s sporting events, her grandkids sporting events, and sports on TV including Timberwolves, Gopher basketball, and even the Vikings.
She will be missed by so many but it is certain her reunion with her husband of 56 years was a sight to see.
Jane is survived by her children, Steven (Ann) Buck, Robert Buck, Julie (Lee) Bernick; grandchildren, Molly (Austin) Britnell, Jayme (Alec) Fischer, Jessica (Daniel) Janu, Jennifer Buck, Jack Bernick Patrick Bernick, Jayne Bernick: great granddaughter, Blakelyn Janu; sister, Judy Kleven; other relatives and friends.
Jane is greeted in Heaven by her husband, Robert Buck; parents, Leo and Bernadine Donnelly: brothers, Richard, Robert, Patrick and sister, Frances.

I knew Jane through waiting on her at a local restaurant. She was such a delight and made my day brighter every time I saw her. One of those people who just emit kindness and happiness. She will be missed. So sorry for your loss Julie and family.❤️
