Jake was like a dear brother to me all my life. He always shined bright, greeted me with that big grin and firm hug. He also brought so much humor just being him. He will be missed. I would like to believe he is watching over us now reciting one of his quips of the day and that he has found some peace.

We are devastated at the loss of Jake! We are going to miss his smile and laugh! He was a joy to work with! Jake was loyal, dedicated and always fun to be around! He will be greatly missed by everyone at Klingberg Trucking! Blessing on your family!

Words can’t express how sad I’m to hear about Jake. My prayers and thoughts are w u Jan and family. I’ll miss his smile his jokes and just him being him. Way too young to leave us but God’s got plans that we can’t question.

Jake was the best neighbor anyone could ask for. What great memories I will always treasure of all our adventures as friends and neighbors. I am here for you, Jan and kids and will help in anyway I can. May Jake rest in the loving arms of Jesus.

My fondest memory of Jake is riding around in his 56 Chevy or super B. Chasing girls and fun times with Sherman, Dale, Brian and me. The trip to White Rock was a crazy ride.

Jake to a “T”. He was a big brother although he had 3 older sisters. Christopher’s first comment when we told him Uncle Jake went to Heaven to be with Jesus……”well, he was a brave man” I as his immediate older sister couldn’t agree more. I may have come to his rescue numerous times as a young lad (cousins Gene & Gary know what I’m talking about as well as school friends, Sherman, Dale etc…) but, he came to my “rescue” more than once as a big brother would. He was my hero and he made us sisters keep up with him to better ourselves. I will miss you dear friend and brother, Jake. It’s been great to be a part of yours and Jan’s family life…Joe and our kids always felt your place was “our home, away from home”. Cherished memories forever. Jan, my heart goes out to you, great co-Thespian. I sure enjoyed taking tickets at Jordan Community Theatre when Jake was around. He kept us entertained. And I grew to appreciate his big grins. Count me in as someone you can call on if you are in need.

Steve and I are trying to figure out how we are going to get through each day without seeing, hearing and listening to Jake. He was Steve’s “Bro” and they shared a 40 year Bromance.

Jake took on the roll of his neighborhood care giver. Especially after the acquisition of his beloved skid steer! He motored that around Ten Acre Woods like a bull in a China shop. Grab your dogs, cats and kids, Jakes fired up the bobcat.

Jake and Steve told the same stories around the fire over, and over, and over. Each time just as funny as the last time. Cows with ladders stuck on their head, pigs stranded on 169, he and Jan’s pre-marriage road trip, mowing lawn at night in his tighty whities, playing horseshoes with Myron. When the fire was embers, Jakes chair was empty. He “pulled a Jake” and wandered home quietly.

Jake loved his family and friends fiercely. He talked about family all the time. He was sensitive and mourned the loss of his loved ones just as deeply as we are mourning the loss of him.

There has never been a time when Steve and I had a visitor that they didn’t go home without a Jake encounter! There were no strangers in Jakes life.

We will remember all the Jakism’s and tell stories over and over. But it will never ever be the same and the laughter not as loud.

The one Jakeism I’ve heard for 14 years now and is my favorite is this –

You captured so many of the things that made Jake Jake – one of the hardest working, fun loving and kind-hearted people that we have been blessed to know. He will be missed. Our hearts go out to the Lennox and Dalbec families. Am praying that good memories of time spent with him will be of comfort to you.

What a wonderful tribute to Jake and so true. Jake was always there for everyone. You never had to ask him twice, anything you needed he would get for you or figure out how to get it done. We always laughed at his ” see you Thursday “, such a Jake’ism. He always greeted us with a big strong bearhug and genuinely cared about what you had to say. Jake, So much more than just a cousin, You were a friend, the best Godfather to Taylor. Never thought I would miss the hugs where you would growl in my neck but I am going to. You were full of piss and vinegar, love and laughter, And we’re always there when we needed something or anything. You have enough in Heaven now for a hunting party, Let’s see who gets the biggest dear are who catches the biggest fish. I love you and will miss you until we meet again

Jake and Jan were one of the many blessings our family experienced when my sister Maggie moved into the 10 Acre Wood. There was not a time that we drove in to Maggie and Steve’s driveway that Jake did not appear around the corner. He was such a great friend to them and to all of us and will be missed. Rip Jake Prayers and Thoughts to the Family

Big Jake carried the world on his shoulders, with a smile and a twinkle in his eyes. He was a man ten times his size. He was 200 lbs, water over the bridge, and I will see you Thursday.
I did not walk in his shoes, but he helped me to be a better man. He did not choose to be my brother-in-law, but he did choose to be my friend.
He wore his love for his family like a badge. Jan, Jenny, Jackie, Justin, Matt, Alana, Railyn, Gracelyn of course but also all his siblings and in-laws, not to mention many cousins. He was proud to be a part of all our lives.
There was a lot more to Jake than I will ever know. I loved him and will miss him. I hope to see him again.

So many memories. Hunting, opening fishing, putting the pig in the ground, cigars, card games in Ma’s kitchen, Pictionary, Pepsi. Too many to name, but all made possible by Jake! I’m gonna miss him. Jan, please let me know if you need anything .

My sincere condolences to Jake’s wife and his children, he talked about you often. I will dearly miss seeing truck #2344 coming through the gate and hearing his usual greeting, “ good morning everybody!” He was the little guy with the big heart! Always smiling and laughing! So shocked and saddened to hear this news. I didn’t know Jake but reading the obituary and the condolences makes me wish I had. He sounds like an amazing person. Someday you’ll have to tell me the story behind the ‘see you Thursday’ Jakeism.
