Gladys May Whiting, age 84, passed away peacefully on Wednesday afternoon, February 3, 2016 at Ecumen Seasons of Apple Valley. She was formerly of Duluth, MN.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 13 at 12 (noon), with a time of gathering starting at 10:30 am, all at Ballard-Sunder Funeral and Cremation 4565 Pleasant Street SE, Prior Lake, MN. Deacon Dick Roy will preside, with Gladys’ sons as urn bearers. She will be laid to rest with her husband at Center Cemetery, Northfield, MA. Memorials are preferred and will be distributed in Gladys’ memory by her family.

Gladys was born on April 21, 1931 in Keene, New Hampshire to parents Carlton B and Persis E. (Washer) Clark. She married Robert Almon Whiting on June 20, 1953 in Keene, New Hampshire. They were blessed with four sons, Clark, Glenn, Bruce and Andy.

Left to honor Gladys’ life and mourn the death are her sons, Clark (Lynn Selene) Whiting, Glenn (Kim) Whiting, Bruce Whiting, Andy (Lynne) Whiting; grandchildren, Christofer (Genevieve Woodward) Whiting, Heather (fiancé Jesse Stinnett) Whiting, Robin Whiting, Shaun (Dayanh) Whiting, Eric Whiting, Theresa Whiting, Craig Whiting, Lance (Jessica) Whiting, Robert Whiting, Kiana (Connor) McGillivray, Martin Whiting, Mitchell Whiting, Kenzie Whiting; many great-grandchildren; sister, Joyce Adams; other relatives and friends.

Preceded in death and there to welcome Gladys home in heaven is her beloved husband, Robert.

Gladie was the name the staff at Seasons of Apple Valley called your mom. The staff felt a strong warmth and love for your mom. We are thankful we could be with her during her journey to heaven being with your father and all of our loved ones . Thank you for sharing Gladie with the SAV family.
