After a long hard fight of lung cancer, Frank Michael Capone Sr, passed away Saturday afternoon, May 31, 2014. Surrounded by family, in his Shakopee home, he left this world, at the age of 66. The family will greet guests on Thursday, June 5, from 11 am – noon, at Ballard-Sunder Funeral Home, 833 South Marschall Road, Shakopee, MN. Frank will be laid to rest at the Fort Snelling National Cemetery, with military honors provided by the Fort Snelling Memorial Rifle Squad, at 1 pm.

On July 11, 1947 in Troy, New York, the world was graced with a strong willed and determined Italian, Frank, who was born to parents, Dominic Frank and Marie Agnes (Pisaniello) Capone. He had an older brother, Dominic and younger sister Maryann, growing up in Troy. Frank had a very special and unique relationship with his grandfather and mother. Losing them at a very young age, they became his guardian angels throughout life.

Enlisting in the United States Navy, Frank served four years during the Vietnam War. Most of Frank’s career was following in his father’s footsteps, as a drywall professional. Taking a break from the trade, he also worked as a lineman for the railroad for about 13 years, before picking up his tools again installing sheetrock, taping and painting walls. But Frank was most proud of his years working at Cooper’s Super Valu in Chaska. He brought grit and character to the place and didn’t take any guff. Frank was known by some of the customers to be the “meanest-looking nice guy”, yet being so efficient in his job, as a cashier.

Frank lived a simple life. He enjoyed music, especially which of Louis Armstrong, for the two of them shared the love of the horn. Frank was an accomplished bugler for the New York Skyliners. Playing in many competitions as a young man, he was still proud of his accomplishments to this day. Frank also loved to work in his vegetable garden, manicure his lawn and cooking, especially Italian food. He enjoyed his weekly trips to Sam’s Club and if they had a shopper of month club, Frank would have appeared on it each month.

Hardworking and very independent, Frank had this charismatic personality and was loyal to his family and friends, for he stood by you until the end. Left to honor Frank’s life and mourn the death is his children, Michele (Troy) Dungey of Belle Plaine, Nadine Capone of Montgomery, Frank (Robin) Capone Jr. of Watervliet, NY; special love, Deb Ince; grandchildren, Jade (Whitney) Dungey, Ryan Dungey, Blake Dungey, Jonathan Dellegardelle, Riley Rolloff, Allie Capone, Frank Capone III, Meghan Capone, Cameryn Capone; brother, Dominic Capone of Arkansas; other relatives and friends.

Preceded in death and there to welcome Frank home into heaven, his granddaughter, Kirsten Capone; parents; grandparents and sister, Maryann Capone.

Frank was a man of strength and admiration. His determination and humor were characters of a unique quality. He never sugar coated the obvious. Frank worked hard to provide for his loved ones and then some to those who were less fortunate. He believed in getting it all done, never waisting time. Thank you for loving my mom Deborah. We will take care of her where you left off, do not worry. Rest in peace.
Yes Frank I will seed the grass.;) love you
