Dylan James Greening’s light was extinguished Sunday, August 3, 2014, at his home in Prior Lake.

He was born in Rochester, Feb. 25, 1999, to Desta Aken (Brainerd, MN) and Russell Greening (Rochester, MN).

Dylan attended Prior Lake schools and was to be in 10th grade this year at Prior Lake High School.

He is survived by two sets of parents, his biological parents and his parents that raised him for the past ten years of his life, Mark and Kim Petrich (Prior Lake). He had a lot of family. His siblings included Andrew, Ethan, Emma Greening and Brady (Elma, IA), Samantha Medcalf (Bloomington, MN), Taylor Petrich (Chatfield, MN) and Abigail Petrich (Prior Lake) as well as Andrea Ohm (Eyota, MN), Makayla Hahn (Rochester, MN) and Peyton Greening (Brainerd, MN). He was also survived by great-grandmother, Beverly Petrich (Rochester, MN); his grandparents, Jim and Rebecca Greening (Rochester, MN); grandpa, Jerome Pisney (Lake City, MN), Kim and Andrew Aken (Murphysboro, IL) and Jeffrey Chandler (Chester, IL). He had numerous other aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his great-grandparents, Lloyd Petrich (Rochester, MN), Francis (Phil) and Marie Greening (Rochester, MN), Grandma Kay Koster-Pisney (Lake City, MN); and his aunt, Judy Greening (Stewartville, MN).

Dylan was a bright, energetic and handsome, young man who loved life and had a whole host of awesome friends who will truly miss his presence in their lives.

Memorial service will be held Sunday, August 17, at 4 p.m., at Harbor Community Church, 5995 Timber Trail SE, Prior Lake.

I am Dylan’s little sister Emma and I miss him he was like my best friend in the entire world and I can not believe he is gone, it’s been 6 years and I miss him. I was only 9 when he passed, I get now that he could not continue to fight but I will always have Dylan in my heart because I love him still no matter what happens he is always my best friend
