Donna Mae Wenisch, 76, of Chaska and formerly of Shakopee, passed away on February 24, 2022. A Celebration of Life will be held at Ballard-Sunder Funeral and Cremation in Jordan on April 26, starting at 10am. A Liturgy of the Word service will take place at 11am, following the Celebration of Life. Interment will take place at Fort Snelling National Cemetery after the Liturgy of the Word at 2pm.

On May 7th, 1945, Raymond and Paula Kratzke gave birth to twins named Dennis and Donna. The pair were born in Shakopee. Donna, and her three siblings, all attended and graduated from Shakopee High School.

On October 30, 1965, Donna was united in marriage to Robert Wenisch. Shortly after the pair tied the knot, their family started to grow. When it was all said and done, the pair had three boys. At a young age, Donna and Robert pushed their boys to give BMX racing a try. One by one, Kevin, Craig, and Dan took up the sport. As a family, they traveled around the surrounding states to compete in competitions. During the winter, Donna would pack up the kids and snowmobiles and head to Park Rapids to stay with some of her family. The family would spend two weeks of the kid’s winter break riding snowmobiles and playing board games with their family.

For work, Donna primarily worked in Shipping and Receiving for various companies. She started her career at Rosemount Industrial in 1977. She spent nearly 15 years there before shifting gears. For the next 10 years, Donna worked at Mystic Lake and she helped with housekeeping. Once her time at Mystic Lake was over, she found her way back to Shipping and Receiving by working for Target at their warehouse in Chaska.

Once Donna’s children were older, she started to become more active in St. Mark’s Catholic Church in Shakopee. When she wasn’t helping with the church, Donna could be found outside tending to her beautiful flowers. She also loved to spend time with her wonderful grandchildren.

Donna was a caregiver with a loving heart. She will be missed greatly by her children, Kevin (Jackie) Wenisch, Craig (Sherry) Wenisch, Dan Wenisch; grandchildren, Tyler and Avery Wenisch; brother, Kenny Lebens, and many other loving family members and friends.

Donna is preceded in death by her husband, Robert E. Wenisch; parents, Raymond and Paula Lebens; twin brother Dennis Lebens; and brother Arnie Lebens.
