So sorry to hear about “Barney”. He did so much for his next door neighbor (my mom) after dad passed. He mowed her lawn shoveled her sidewalk & blew her driveway many many times. He was also a good friend to my dad & our whole family. A really great person & will be missed. RIP Barney.

Going anywhere with Barney was like taking a Golden Retriever puppy into a kindergarten class. Barney was known and loved by everyone. Barney was a good man, I will miss him.

My heart is crushed! I have great memories as a kid hanging out with Barney on his family’s dairy farm which was a short distance down the road from my house. The entire Wormer family always made me feel very welcome and there were always hardy German meals at the table. I was amazed at how hard the entire family worked to keep the family farm going strong. Barney taught me how to ride calves in the calf pen. I remember riding them until we were worn out so then we moved on to try riding the pigs! We also helped cull the mice population with our trusty BB guns. I moved away from Jordan at a young age but I always enjoyed catching up with Barney when I came back to visit. Barney is now exploring the other side. I look forward to catching up with Barney in Heaven. I’m sure he has a few things to show me when I get there! Barney will be sorely missed. May God comfort his family during this difficult time.

Connie and family – our condolences. Growing up on the farm, David was the a great neighbor, we shared a number birthday parties, we shared a number of drives home, and shared the experience of helping each other chasing cattle that have gotten out. My memories of David are always with a smile. Godspeed David!

Kevin, oh my goodness yes the cows who wanted to visit neighboring cows, and wasn’t it usually at 2:00 in the morning? And know there were more round ups after I left home!

My husband Charlie and I owned the bar in Lydia and it was such a joy to see Barney walk in with his big smile. He was always helpful and kind to us. Sending prayers and blessings to his family. Rest In Peace Barney.

And I bet he took any offers of free specials too. Lydia was a center of life for locals like Barney. Thank you.

Wormer family, my sympathies to all of you. Thinking back I have such fond memories of your family from picking up the milk on the farm to events at church growing up together. David and I were the same age and I remember the talks we had in the milk house. You are all a wonderful family and it is great to know all of you and a privilege to have known David. May God help you through this hard time.

With deepest sympathy to the Wormer family on the passing of “Barney.” I’m a 1977 classmate and part of the Lydia gang and remember him from our school days. I have passed the old homestead on Hwy 13 many times on my visits back to Minnesota. I called my parents to let them know and they told me that Barney used to work for Butch Ames Construction and it was Barney who planted my dad’s 80 acres way back when. My dad also enjoyed Barney’s company at the Lydia bar a time or two. We are saddened yet joyful that he is with our heavenly father in heaven.
