Dave “Diamond” Kulics, age 74, of Carver, MN, passed peacefully surrounded in the love of family and Our Lord & Savior, Jesus Christ April 6, 2022.

A time of gathering will be on Tuesday, April 12, from 4-6 pm, at Ballard-Sunder Funeral & Cremation, 104 West First Street, Jordan, MN and on Wednesday, April 13, from 10-10:45 am, with a Celebration of Life at 11 am, both at Hope Lutheran Church, 201 Hope Avenue, Jordan. Pastor Steve Thompson will preside, and Dave’s grandchildren will act as urn bearers.

Memorials are preferred and will be distributed in Dave’s memory to Bags of Smiles, a 501c non-profit organization. Email Kristen.burma@gmail.com for more information.

Born September 12, 1946, in Lorain, OH, to Stephen and Gladys Kulics. David married Kay Quigley May 19, 1979, in Marion, OH. Shortly after, they, along with two of their children, relocated to MN that same year.

Dave’s career spanned many phases: working at O.M.Scott Co., The Marion Paper Co., Toro Co., and Trend Enterprises before venturing out on his own to start KSM-Kulics Sales & Marketing in 1992. He earned the trust and respect of all his customers and mentored several manufacturers and retail locations to their own success.

Dave was a wonderful, supportive son, husband, father, and grandfather. He loved baseball and traveling with and supporting his two sons at every level of play. He also coached his daughter’s softball teams and watched her play tennis. Hockey became another favorite sport, watching his son, Seth, & grandsons play. He was a long time Cleveland Browns fan hoping someday to see them play in the Super Bowl. He loved watching his grandchildren play their sports. Dave was a church youth leader and co-coordinator of the church’s Christmas pageant for several years. He loved spending time at his cabin in Ely, MN, relaxing by the lake & gardening.

He enjoyed playing golf, especially with his sons and grandsons. Dave was a BIG Promoter of Kristen’s non-profit, Bags of Smiles, and looked forward each year to golfing with his friends in the BOS’ golf tournament and bowling event with his grandchildren. He was a supporter/participant in the annual Jordan Firemen’s Golf Tournament and many other non-profit organizations.

Forever missed, Dave will be forever loved by wife, Kay; children, Kevin (Dana) Kulics, Kristen (Aric) Burma, Seth (Lindsey) Kulics; grandchildren, Landon Kulics, Mason Kulics, Jagger Kulics, Zachary Burma, Preston Kulics, Reese Kulics; sisters-in-law, Jane Kulics, Lynn (George) Kolarik; many nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.

Greeting Dave home in Heaven are his parents, Stephen and Gladys and brother, Dan Kulics.

Condolence from Greg & Karen Van Zuilen on April 9th, 2022 6:51 pm

When we moved to Golfview Dr almost two years ago, Dave was the first neighbor we met. We were moving in and he came walking up the driveway to introduce himself and welcome us to the neighborhood. Such simple gesture on his part but such a great lasting memory. We have been remembering him in our daily prayers and are saddened to hear of his passing. We will keep you all in our prayers at this very difficult time.

Greg & Karen,
Thank you for your continued prayers as we walk this road.
Yes, we were the 2nd residents at Ridges in 2000. From that day on, he would always be one of the first to introduce himself to the “new” neighbors. And, he probably told you a story or two. 🙂
Ridges is a beautiful neighborhood and Dave loved it there. He would tell you now: “Wake up each day with a smile, enjoy each day, be kind and create memories for your family.”
Kay

Condolence from Rich Stuart on April 11th, 2022 4:12 pm

It was my honor to call Dave a friend. Like so many others, we became acquainted through the educational supply industry. It was always good to see Dave and Seth in various locations around the country. Conversation came easy to Dave and was one of his gifts. He was a man of great character, standing up for what he thought to be right and offering comfort when it was needed. This world needs more people like Dave. He will be missed, but his influence will carry on through his wonderful family and so many who he befriended over the years. We were all better for knowing him.

Our deepest sympathy to the Kulic Family. Many fond memories and conversations with Dave sitting in his favorite spot at the golf course. He was always smiling and laughing about something.

Dear Kay, Seth and the entire KULICS FAMILY! Please know that Norma and I are with you in Spirit today, tomorrow and all the days that follow. We truly wanted to be there with you to honor Dave’s Legacy and to simply thank him and say our goodbyes – until that glorious day arrives for all of us to be together again!

Is made of what I learned from you
You”ll be with me

And now whatever way our stories end
I know you have re-written mine
By being my Friend!

Peace, Love & Hugs…..and God’s Speed

Dear Kay and family,
Jim and I just heard the sad news of Dave’s passing. Another neighbor from the “old neighborhood “ passed it along. Our love, thoughts and prayers are with you all. We are so grateful Dave is at peace but know how hard it is for the ones left behind.
Much love to you all.
