Cyrus Reigel, age 19 of Jordan, passed away on December 13, 2022. A Time of Gathering in honor of Cyrus will be held on Wednesday, December 21, 2022 from 3-6 PM at Ballard-Sunder Funeral Home, 104 1st St W, Jordan, with closing words and memory sharing at 5:30 PM.

Cyrus was full of love. Learning was her passion. So was art, reading, gaming and music. She was the best at statistically figuring the most efficient path to success; whether how best to shade a drawing she was creating, getting the best loot in a computer game, or how to solve puzzles with the fewest steps. A great thinker.

Robotics was a highlight of her high school career. She was proud to be a part of the UMD community and so were we! She enjoyed being outside, helping others, good chai tea, quality chocolate and any homemade goodies (including helping to make them). She loved animals and a good warm corn bag.

Cyrus will be remembered always by parents, David Reigel and Heidi Lunderberg; and everyone who knew her.

She loved us all and we will never stop missing her.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her honor to The Trevor Project.

Condolences for the family of “Cyrus Reigel”

Condolence from Tobias Jones on December 16th, 2022 2:30 pm

I met Cyrus in middle school and we were band buddies in the trumpet section. We had matching silver trumpets and that connected us. He made middle school band rehearsals and concerts less stressful and more relaxing back then with just his company.

Condolence from Sarah Babatz on December 16th, 2022 4:42 pm

I met Cyrus in sophomore year in highschool, she is a really good friend of mine and we went to the same college! Her and I had a friend group called the Squad, where it was made in 11th grade! We always hungout with them and other friends! We would stay up last texting eachother through out our 5 years of our friendship. I will never forget her! She was always made jokes, had memes, made others laugh, and most of all just her being there just made me and others happy! She loved taking pictures of the sunsets in Duluth! She went hiking once in awhile with me and her other friends! Most of all, she was really good in math, like I don’t think I will ever be good as her! She also was good in art and would talk about art together all the time! I will miss my art buddy! I know all of her friends will miss her so much! We will cherish the memories together! Thank you for having such a wonderful daughter! I give condolence to you! I can’t imagine losing your own child! I hope you take care of yourselves!

Condolence from Zoe Skoogman on December 17th, 2022 3:28 pm

My friendship with Cyrus grew in sophomore year, throughout that year I got to know more about her and connected with her on our own wavelength. She would always know what to say to me in a conversation of dilemmas. At the time I had never met someone so gentle and kind when it came to the feelings of others, always willing to listen to me and my struggles. So patient. One of the best huggers. At the end of sophomore year I got a bunch of my other friends and collectively mashed them into a friend group, all exceptionally special 🙂 goofballs and nerds. The closest people I had to my heart became a friend group. I can never forget those times, and I can still remember how I felt being in those moments with them and with her. She was very special to me. Saying I would miss her and that I loved her would be an understatement. Cyrus was someone who, when seeing all your faults, flaws, insecurities, and demons still looked at you the same way she always did…never treating you differently. There would be no judgement, only an open shoulder to lean on. Thank you for being in my life, you will forever be missed and loved by me my friend ❤️ I extend my deepest condolences to any family member of hers and to know the impact she had on not only my life but others as well, she was loved deeply.

Condolence from Jessica Bohnsack on December 17th, 2022 4:10 pm

I will always remember that sweet smile popping up shyly at tower and the way it made her momma glow. She was such a kind and gentle person and a delight to be around. The world has truly lost a treasure but the heavens have gained a star. May you and your family find peace in the knowledge that she loved you and will be remembered fondly.
Sending love and light.

I met Cyrus on the bus, and we would talk every school day to and fro. It wasn’t until later where our friendship blossomed into something greater than the sun of their parts. I will miss him dearly, as Cyrus was among my best of friends.

Heidi Jo
My heart breaks for you. We always wondered what had happened to you and your beloved child Cyrus. The last time I saw her i was just about to give birth to my son Aharon. They were three months apart like Nicki and Carley. It looks like she was an amazing person just like her mom :). Loss if a child is never easy. I have been there myself. Take time to grieve but just remember she is still with you. Please call or text me when you have a chance. 7632186240 -K
