Clayton George Rohr, of St. Paul, passed away peacefully at the age of 80, on Thursday, July 22, 2016 at Woodbury Health Care Center, Woodbury, MN.
A Celebration of Life Service honoring Clayton will be on Thursday, August 4, 2016 at 12 noon, with a time of gathering one-hour prior, all at Roselawn Cemetery Chapel, 803 West Larpenteur Avenue, Roseville, MN. Jean Breeggemann, a Life Tribute Specialist, will lead the service. His son, Mike, will be his urn bearer.
On October 30, 1935 in St. Paul, MN, Clayton was born the middle of three boys to George and Dorothy (Trost) Rohr. His life was filled with enjoyment of the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing at his cabin on Mille Lacs. Clayton loved to play cribbage while enjoying a cup of coffee or a Schmidt Beer in the evening. His working days were spent as a wood craftsman or as a carpenter. As the years went on, Clayton became a talented cook, his specialty being spaghetti and fresh, homemade bread.
Over the years, Clayton’s eyesight declined until he became legally blind. Through this journey, he was blessed with great friends—Jack, Doug and Carol. They were his taxi cab, caretakers and fishing buddies.
Left to carry on Clayton’s legacy are his children, Erica (Steve) Costello, Anita Stever, Russell Rohr, Mike (Shannon) Rohr; grandchildren, Josh Stever, Andrew Rohr, Jacob Pauna, Kevin Rohr, Olivia Rohr, Isabelle Rohr; daughter-in-law, Lori (Greg) Rassmussen; brother, Owen Rohr; sister-in-law, Phyllis Rohr; special companion, Carol Skaar; many relatives and friends.
Clayton is preceded in death by his son, Chuck Rohr; parents, George and Dorothy and brother, Ken Rohr,
