Carol A. (Sabo) De Georgeo, of Prior Lake, MN, passed away on Saturday, December 23, 2023, at age 87, at Orchard Path Senior Living in Apple Valley, Minnesota.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, January 3, 2024, at 11 am, with a visitation from 9:30-10:45 am, at St. Michael Catholic Church, 16400 Duluth Avenue SE, Prior Lake. Livestreaming will be available at stmichael-pl.org and by clicking on the “Mass and Services” tab. Father Tom Walker will preside. Carol will be laid to rest at St. Michael Catholic Cemetery. Memorials preferred to the Alzheimer’s Association. The family will distribute your donation in Carol’s memory.
Carol was born July 15, 1936, in Detroit, Michigan to Alex and Johanna (Mench) Sabo. She earned Bachelors and Masters degrees in Education from the University of Detroit and Wayne State University respectively. Carol spent over 40 years teaching high school business education in Detroit as well as in Burnsville, Apple Valley, and Woodbury, Minnesota.
Carol married the late Raymond on May 3, 1958, at St. Christopher Church, Detroit, Michigan. They were blessed with three children: Joyce, Michael and Patricia. Both were active members of St. Michael Catholic Church, Prior Lake, Minnesota. Carol and Ray both served as funeral sacristans, eucharistic ministers, and they were active in Cursillo. Carol also served as Cursillo board member.
Left to honor Carol’s life and mourn her death are children, Joyce De Georgeo, Michael (Su Ann) De Georgeo, Patricia (David) Schumacher; grandchildren, Carter, Julia, Cole, Joseph; sister, Ellen James; brothers, David (Shirley) Sabo, Gerald Sabo; many relatives and friends.
Carol is preceded in death by her husband, Raymond and parents, Alex and Johanna Sabo.
