Brad Lucht, age 45, of Rockford, MN, passed away unexpectedly on April 17, 2024. A Celebration of Life will be held for Brad at 11:00 AM with a time of gathering from 9:00 – 11:00 AM on Friday, April 26, 2024 at Shepherd of the Lake Lutheran Church (3611 North Berens Road NW) in Prior Lake, MN. Pastor Laila Barr will preside.

Family and friends who can’t attend in-person are invited to livestream the service at the following link:

Bradley Jon Lucht entered the world on Labor Day, September 2, 1978. From the start he was a creative, fun loving, spunky kid! At an early age he developed an interest in the outdoors. He rode bike, played in the woods, & skateboarded in the neighborhood with friends! He loved swimming from the first swimming lessons and in elementary school participated on PL swim teams. For many years we spent a week in August at Shady Lane Resort in Alexandria where we met the same families and formed friendships enjoying Carlos Lake swimming and boating activities. Brad was a water bug! Lloyd taught all the kids how to ski!

In Prior Lake Junior/Senior High he excelled in swimming and soccer. Brad specialized in the backstroke and won numerous medals. He started soccer when he was in elementary school. Brad continued to develop skills and played soccer throughout his high school days. He had a love for music, too, playing guitar and singing!

Brad started his cooking career at the Legends Golf Course where he had a patient, encouraging mentor who could see his talent! He developed management skills along the way as he moved up the ladder going from Legends to SuLago to Stellas where he supervised and collaborated with other chefs. Eventually he changed careers and ended up at Site 1, a Landscaping Company, in Plymouth. There he was a supervisor handling material for wholesale customers. Brad met Heather at Site 1, and she became the love of his life. He also started having cookouts for the staff at Site 1 on special occasions and spoiled them with some awesome dishes!

Brad is survived by his parents, Lloyd and Donna Lucht; girlfriend, Heather Wangstad; brother, Matt Lucht (Jessica Buckley); nephew, Connor Lucht; other loving family and friends; and beloved dog, Ellie. Brad is preceded in death by his grandparents, Don & Violet Blake and John Lucht & Mildred Lucht-Oldham.

This hits hard. So many memories. McDonald’s playground after soccer games when we were little. Carpooling up to Blaine together for soccer camp at 16. Making the varsity team together freshman year and playing with Matt was pretty cool. Random 4-wheeler excursions around town. Brad was a good friend. Lloyd, Donna and Matt so sorry for you loss.

Condolence from Jaci on April 27th, 2024 10:00 pm

I want to say goodbye properly. At one point in our lives you were my partner, my personal chef, my tour guide, my best friend. There is a quote from you in my journal…”The greatest gift you can give is your life to feed another”. I hope you are at peace knowing that you fed so many, not just with your food but with your whole self. You may not have been in my life for some time now but there are crumbs of you everywhere, I would say you were always in my life. You helped shape who I am today and I am grateful to have had you in my life. You don’t need to walk slow to see the stars anymore… you are among the stars. Goodbye Brad, thank you for the memories. I’ll see you by the river.
