Bonnie’s life story

Bonnie Cleveland age 72 of Prior Lake, MN, was born September 30, 1940 in Maquoketa, Iowa to parents Marvin Felderman and Viona Seiler (Reeg). She grew up in Bellevue, Iowa with her sisters Shirley, Sandra and her brother Gary. She graduated from Bellevue High School in 1959.

Working as a waitress in Josie’s Café in Bellevue she met the man she would marry. Bonnie married Eugene “Gene” Cleveland on February 23, 1963 at Shakopee, MN. Together they celebrated 50 years of marriage on February 23, 2013, Gene passed away April 22, 2013. They were blessed with 3 daughters Stacy, Penny and Nikki. They moved into their home on Prior Lake in the summer of 1968. For 32 years she had a daycare in her home, and loved being a second mom to hundreds of kids. She loved her home, particularly spending time at her patio table talking with all the neighbors every summer, typically while enjoying a beverage. There, too, she was a second mom to many of the neighbors around her home. Bonnie served on the Stewardship Board for St. Paul’s Lutheran Church & School and was a member of the Women’s Auxiliary of Prior Lake American Legion.

At the age of 72, Bonnie passed away peacefully and went to be with her Lord and husband Gene, in the presence of her daughters and granddaughter on the afternoon of September 25, 2013 at St. Gertrudes Health and Rehabilitation Center, Shakopee, MN.

Deeply missed and remembered always by those who loved her, daughters, Stacy (Don Scheuerman) Cleveland of Leesburg, VA, Penny Cleveland of Prior Lake, MN, Nikki Cleveland of Prior Lake, MN; granddaughters, Kristin (John) Terrill, Delaney Scheuerman and Carson Scheuerman; sisters, Shirley Cornwall and Sandra (Bill) Demkier; brother Gary Seiler and many loving friends.

She is preceded in death by husband Eugene “Gene” Cleveland; mother, Viona Seiler; father, Marvin Felderman; and step-father, Joseph Seiler.

Pallbearers will be Don Scheuerman, John Terrill, Dave Friedges, Lenny Gephart, Steve Boegemann, Grady Friedges and Pat Pakiz.

The visitation will be on Sunday, September 29, 2013, from 4-7 pm at Ballard-Sunder Funeral Home 4565 Pleasant Street SE, Prior Lake, MN 55352 and one hour prior to the service at the church. The Celebration of Life Service will be on Monday, September 30, 2013 at 11 am, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church Prior Lake, MN. Rev. John P. Vaughn will preside. Bonnie will be laid to rest next to her husband Gene, at St Paul’s Lutheran Cemetery, Prior Lake, MN.

Memorials are preferred and will be distributed in Bonnie’s memory by the family.
