Blake Charles Menking passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on Wednesday, January 15, 2020. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 22, 2020 from 2:00-4:00 PM with a celebration of life service at 4:00 PM at Ballard-Sunder Funeral & Cremation (4565 Pleasant Street SE) in Prior Lake.
Blake was born on June 15, 1982 to Pamela and Charles Menking in Burnsville, MN. Raised in Prior Lake/Savage where in his youth he enjoyed playing Soccer & Basketball and excelled at both.
His charm and charisma served him quite well as a child, and even better as an adult. After High School Blake went on to work for All Star construction. Over the years he continued gaining knowledge and remodeled homes throughout the Twin Cities Metro Area.
Blake was so full of life, bringing humor and laughter into every single life he touched. Once, when his car wouldn’t start, he thought he would call “Jimmy John’s”, because they’re Freaky Fast, and he knew he would get his car jumped and a sandwich in 5 minutes or less. You can’t make this stuff up.
Blake wore his heart on his sleeve, he truly cared for everyone he met on this journey, putting others before himself. He was one of a kind and will be dearly missed by his loved ones. A charismatic simple man, Blake will be dearly missed by his Daughter, Brooklynn Menking, her Mother, Ja’Nae Christensen, Mother, Pamela McKenney, Father, Charles Menking, Sister Brittany McKenney, loving friend Corrine Cords, maternal Grandmother June Cardinal; paternal grandfather, Lloyd Menking, many aunts, uncles, cousins and other loving relatives, friends and loved ones. Blake is preceded in death by his grandfather Donald F. Cardinal, and grandmother, Corrine Menking.

We are so sorry for your loss. Living across the country we didn’t get to see Blake as much as we would have liked. We both still remember our time at Lake Pelican as one of our favorite vacations with the whole family.

I am extremely saddened by the death of Blake. i had the pleasure of working with him on and off for six years. I am sorry for his daughter, Brooklyn, Coco , Pam and Chuck.

Chuck, Pam and Brooklyn words can express how sorry I am. Blakes personality was magnetic, his humor and charisma was definitely one of his best attributes. Blake was my best friend for over 20 years. We were inseparable from the very beginning in 5th grade, closest friend ive ever had. So many memories together and so much trouble together in middle school. And later working together everyday. Blake’s memory will be cherished forever by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him.
Blake it’s T-Dawg the guy who who would dig foorting for for you in the middle of winter because out of love for you you were always so loving and tried to be the best role model you could it hurt the most to Kno kalvyn won’t grow up with his godfather around you were the best person ever and never turned ur back on me Blake I’ll never forget you and am so happy we got to have our talk we had the day you passed love you so much you are forever in my heart I love you so damn much yor forever to be my brother I love you

I miss you brother from another mother!! Being schizophrenic I am, for once, I don’t mind my mental illness because of you. it’s cool hearing your voice in my temples & around my mind, it sounds just like you. We gonna Tetris are new zones. In my schizophrenia, Blake says some expect apples at you one day at the gates ? Lol. It truly was an honor & privilege to meet & know you Blake. My mind still can’t understand I can’t call you to hang out or go get food. Love you brudka. ✨
Blake, I cant believe you left this plane so soon.
In the 20+ years we had together I learned so much from you. I laughed so much with u. And now i cry so much without you. I miss you Bud. You will live inside my heart until we meet at that crossroads.

We were so sorry to hear about Blake. I just found this page so I apologize for being late. We thought a lot of Blake and hope you are all healing from this. Our boys are both gone but will forever remain in our hearts.
