A heartfelt thank you is extended to the staff at White Pine Assisted Living and Memory Care, for their love and exceptional care of our mother, Beverly. Your compassion went beyond the call of duty and for this we are forever grateful. You were mom’s earthly angels.

Axel and Marie (Snobeck) Johnson were on their way to Arizona, when they had the surprise arrival of a baby girl. They name her Beverly, born on September 21, 1933, in Rapid City, SD. The fifth of nine children, she grew up working hard along with her siblings, who called her Billie, on the family farm near Clearbrook, MN. Being one of the middle children, Beverly had the opportunity to learn her mother’s amazing skills of cooking and baking, which benefited many families and friends, in the coming years.

After graduating from high school, Beverly took a position in mission work with God’s Invasion Army. She excelled in mission work, because of her parent’s strong faith foundation that was instilled in her. Beverly moved to the Twin Cities, where she worked in a nursing capacity at Midway Hospital. After Beverly’s children were older, she worked various jobs with Anchor Glass and Shakopee Junior High. Beverly eventually started her own home cleaning business, which she truly enjoyed.

While singing at her sister’s wedding, Beverly was introduced to Harlan Lindgren. They began a long-distance relationship. On October 21, 1955, Beverly and Harlan were united in marriage in Clearbrook. Blessed with three children and 66 years together, Beverly and Harlan were dedicated to their family. They enjoyed camping, eating out, and spending Sunday afternoons together. As a couple, Beverly and Harlan loved to travel all over Canada and the United States. Once he retired, they had more opportunities for exploring.

Following in her mother’s footsteps, Beverly was an excellent cook. Proud of her Swedish heritage, her specialty was Swedish Meatballs and Lefsa. Beverly even won a contest for her amazing Lefsa. Beverly’s baking abilities also held high remarks, especially her pies. She often spoke in the Swedish language, with her favorite phrase of “Can you imagine?” Beverly had a love of gardening and grew the most amazing rose bushes.

Family was top priority for Beverly, and she never stopped moving. Beverly loved to entertain. She made the most incredible meals and knew just how to make an occasion or holiday the best it could be. Beverly and Harlan were most proud of being grandparents. They remained active in their lives and enjoyed the time spent with them on special outings. Even as Beverly’s health started to decline, the wheels on her wheelchair remained in motion and kept busy focusing on family and friends.

The legacy of hardworking, focused, devoted and genuine soul, will eternally live on in children, Melody (Dale) Mathison, Garth (Kristen) Lindgren, Phil Lindgren; grandchildren, Tyler Mathison, Rachel Mathison, Katie (Jon) Anderson, Kari (Ryan) Rueckert, Marie (Steven) Davitt, Jonah (Lyndsey) Lindgren, Andy (Katey) Lindgren; great-grandchildren, Bryn, Zane, Adrianna; siblings, Marilyn Nelson, Estelle (Don) Rada, Mayzelle Morlan, Maynard (Sandie) Johnson; sister-in-law, Vone Johnson; other relatives and friends. Greeting Beverly home in Heaven is her husband, Harlan Lindgren; parents, siblings, Selmer Okstad, Arlys (Arvid) Emmel, Harlyn Johnson, Deloris (Loren) Nelson; brothers-in-law, Paul Nelson, and Richard Morlan.
