Barbara Ann Schatz, age 74 of Carver, MN passed away on Saturday, March 3, 2012 at the Belle Plaine Lutheran Home. Her husband, Francis spent the last 8 days at her bedside.

Barbara Ann was born September 29, 1937 in Zeeland, ND to parents Michael and Elizabeth (Streifel) Feist. She was the oldest of 3 children and attended school in Zeeland.

She married Francis Schatz on September 19, 1960 at St. John’s Catholic Church in Zeeland, ND. They were blessed with 7 children. Barbara Ann loved being a grandmother, gardening, sewing and ceramics.

Loved and forever missed by her husband of 51 1/2 yrs, Francis Schatz; children, Randy Schatz of Carver, Annette Schatz of Carver, Kimberly (David) Gelhaye of Shakopee, Michael (Tami) Schatz of Shakopee, Lisa (Robert) Lindquist of Loretto, Jill (Rory) Cruser of Sauk Rapids, Patrick (Lisa) Schatz of Belle Plaine; 12 grandchildren, Brent Schatz, Brandon Gelhaye, Chloe Gelhaye, Heidi Schatz, Kelli Schatz, Reece Lindquist, Keenan Lindquist, Francis Cruser, Savanna Schatz, Josiah Schatz, Olivia Schatz & Emma Schatz; brothers, Raymond (Loretta) Feist of Linton, ND, James (Maria) Feist of Zeeland, ND; mother-in-law, Julia Schatz of West Fargo, ND.

She was preceded by her parents, Michael & Elizabeth Feist and father-in-law, Roy Schatz.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, March 7th from 4-8 pm at Ballard-Sunder Funeral Home in Jordan with family prayers at 3:30 pm and the Knights of Columbus Rosary at 7 pm.

Mass of Christian Burial will be on Thursday, March 8th, 11:00 AM at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Jordan with visitation one hour prior at church. Father Timothy Yanta will officiate. Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery in Jordan.

Pallbearers will be her six grandsons, Brent Schatz, Brandon Gelhaye, Reece Lindquist, Keenan Lindquist, Francis Cruser and Josiah Schatz.

Memorials are preferred and will be distributed in Barbara Ann’s memory by the family.
