Bill’s life story

William “Bill” Horan, Jr.

William Horan, Jr. was born December 21, 1968 to parents, William and Judy (Berreth) Horan on Dyess Air Force Base in Texas. Bill grew up all over the country, but spent most of his childhood in Grafton, ND. It was as a child that Bill’s lifelong love for movies began. He was always giggling in the theater, and his laughter was contagious.

Bill began working at a young age. He had many jobs throughout the years, but his first was clearing tables at a local restaurant. He also worked driving truck, managing a restaurant, owning a trucking company and being a sales director in the transportation industry. Sales suited Bill as he was an outgoing, ambitious man.
Work was always important to Bill, and it was on the job that he met the love of his life, Michelle. He was her boss at “Pop ‘n’ Go Video” in Fargo. It was Michelle who asked Bill out on a date, and the rest was history. After dating for about a year, the two were married on December 30, 1989 in Fargo, ND. They made Fargo their home for a number of years where they welcomed the birth of their beautiful daughter, Morgen. The family lived in a number of different cities. Years later Bill and Michelle were blessed with their son, Chase. The family was now complete, and they finally settled in Savage, MN.

Bill loved spending time with his family. He always took the kids to the movie theater on weekends and would let them get whatever treats they wanted. As a family they also enjoyed many, many trips to Bill’s favorite spot, Disney World. It was at Epcot and on Splash Mountain that Bill made meaningful memories with his family. Bill also loved going to carnivals, fairs, theme parks, and haunted houses. He would take Morgen to the Fargo Fair so they could attend the concerts of any 80’s Hair Band that came to town. Of course, his favorite was KISS.

Other passions of Bill’s were fishing, golfing and taking long walks with his favorite four-legged friends, Willow and Zoey. Bill was also a true sports fan. He enjoyed going to baseball and football games. All of his hobbies and interests were things he could do with his family, as they were the most important thing in his life. He was a wonderful husband and a loving father.

Bill Horan died suddenly the morning of November 24, 2013. He will always be remembered by his wife, Michelle (Harms) Horan of Savage; children, Morgen Horan and Chase Horan; mother, Judy (Mark) McFarlane of New York Mills; sister, Tricia (Andy) Gates of Fargo, ND; grandmothers, Anna Berreth of Park River, ND and Katherine Horan of New York City, NY; father and mother-in-law, Jim and Sandy Harms of Fargo, ND; many nieces and nephews; other loving relatives and close friends. Bill is preceded in death by his father, William Horan, Sr.; grandfathers, Edward Berreth and Grandpa Horan.
