William “Bill” A. Pass, age 84, of Jordan, MN, entered eternal peace on February 20, 2019, at New Prague Mayo Hospital.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday, February 26, at 11 am, with a time of gathering 2-hours prior, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Jordan. Father Neil Bakker will preside, with Bill’s sons acting as urn bearers. Military Honors will be provided by the Jordan Vets and New Prague Honor Guards. A family private burial will be held at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
On April 18, 1934, William Anthony was born to parents Peter and Rose (Williams) Pass. He was the fourth of eight children born and raised on the family farm in Chaska, MN. Bill attended Guardian Angels Catholic School. As soon as he was eligible, Bill enlisted in the United States Navy where he completed his education. During Bill’s enlistment from 1952-1956, he was aboard the USS WASP carrier, as an Engineer during the Korean War.
Returning to the states, a friend introduced Bill to Agnes “Aggie” McGovern, at the Spring Lake Pavilion. They were married at the Church of St. Mary Catholic Church, Shakopee, on May 17, 1958. Bill and Aggie settled in Chaska, where they welcomed 6 children. In 1981, they moved south of the river to Jordan.
For over 36 years, Bill worked as a line mechanic at Green Giant/Pillsbury. He also created Bill’s Railing Service. He spent countless hours in the workshop welding and doing wrought iron work. In Bill’s free time, he collected toy tractors and restored a 1952 John Deere tractor. Bill took this interest in tractors and was a member of the Scott County Threshers and the Pioneer Power Association. He was also a member of the New Prague America Legion and the VFW.
Bill enjoyed coffee at Country Prime Time with his buddies. An avid Minnesota Vikings fan, he also spent evenings watching western movies. Bill enjoyed the annual family Fourth of July gathering and the companionship of his dogs and Bart the bird.
Bill is survived by wife, Aggie Pass; children, Terry (Wanda) Pass, Amy (Jim) Stepanek, Denise Pass, Peter (Kris) Pass, Scott (Terri) Pass, Lori (Shawn) Ryan; grandchildren, Will Pass, Emily (Tim) Gleeson, Steven Pass, Maggie Pass, Joe Pass, Carson Pass, Mitch Pass, Carter Pass, Patrick Ryan, Greta Ryan; great-grandson, Dominic Gleeson; sisters, Bernice Strobel, Angie Rogers, Rose Raser, Helen Link, Ann Marie Simons; sisters-in-law, Cathy Pass, Betty Pass; other relatives and friends.
Bill is preceded in death by granddaughter, Mollie Ryan; parents; brothers, John Pass, Art Pass; brothers-in-law Norbert Rogers, Clete Link, Denis Simons, Walter Raser and Frances Strobel.

My heartfelt sympathies go out to the family and friends. May you find some comfort in the promise found in Revelation 21: 3-4 and 1Thessalonians 4:14. Knowing that there is an opportunity to be reunited with loved ones.
Rest in peace my friend, Bill Pass. Now you and all the others may play cards and enjoy visiting with our Fr. Elgar Bockenfeld OFM. The heavens gained another light. Say hi to Mom and Dad for us.
My deepest sympathies to my Aunt Aggie and my fellow cousins and all your families. We have lost one of the true larger than life individuals in the Pass family and there were quite a few. While we take solace in the fact that we know he is with our Lord, and I’m sure his brothers and brothers-in-law will be welcoming him into whatever card game their playing.
Aggie and family,Katie and I send our condolences to your family. Every time i use my hand rails outside and grind my venison I will think Bill. Maybe him and Rog will be visiting in heaven. We will not be able to attend. God bless,Bian

As a member of the college of knowledge coffee club. Bill will be missed , his wisdom And truelly his outlook in everyday life. Why my believe is that Bill made the gates to heaven.. for him and his family, Bill talked highly of wife..
Dear Aggie and family, So sorry to learn of Bill’s passing. He was such a special and talented person and a true”can maker” to all who made Producers Container/Green Gaint Container Operations the special place and family it was to all of us who worked together at Savage. I had the pleasure of reporting to Bill in the PCC warehouse my 1st day on the job, April 24, 1958. What a caring and helpful person he was and is now that he is in heaven. Please accept our best wishes going forward. Blessings always.
Aunt Aggie and Family, we were so sorry to hear of Uncle Bill’s passing on Wednesday morning. He was such a gentle man, so full of life! He will be missed immensely! Our love to you all! Pam & Gene
