Tyler Michael Howie Ross was born on November 18, 1989, in Burnsville, MN to parents Thomas Howie and Deborah Ross. He grew up in Prior Lake, where Tyler was the little brother to Thomas “TJ”. As a young boy, he loved playing football, baseball, fishing, hunting, playing with his older brother and just having fun. When he became a dad, Tyler enjoyed spending summers boating and fishing with his daughter, playing outside, chocolate ice cream and being silly together. During the winter months, he could be found on the slopes snowboarding/tubing, sledding, and making snowmen with his daughter Jemma. Tyler attended school in the Prior Lake School District. Most of his career, he worked as a laser operator for Quality Tools.

Tyler loved being around people, hanging out with his daughter Jemma, spending time with his family, especially all his nieces and nephews, stepbrothers and sisters, and great friends. He enjoyed working on cars, barbequing, and making every gathering more enjoyable. His huge smile was infectious. He loved playing poker, card games and many board games with his daughter. Tyler was an avid Minnesota Vikings fan and loyal supporter of the other Minnesota teams.

A deep love of people, Tyler’s mission was always to put others needs first, before his own. He was forever present and took time helping family and friends. He would stop and help strangers stranded on the side of the road. A great sense of humor, Tyler had this contagious smile and laugh that lit up any room. His presence made you smile!

The greatest gift in Tyler’s life was the birth of his daughter, Jemma born on July 21, 2010. She was the twinkle in his eye and was so proud of her. Tyler relished the times spent with Jemma and had such a deep love for her.

Tyler Michael Howie Ross was kind, loving, caring and selfless. Forever loved, he will be forever missed by daughter, Jemma; mother, Debbie (Tim Coen) Ross-Coen; father, Tom (Kelly) Howie; brother, TJ Howie Ross; grandmother, Pat Ross: Step siblings Jasmine and Jessica Wagener, Chris (Liz Minne) Coen, Andy Coen, Trevor (Heather) Coen, Margo (Lucas) Johnson; many other relatives and friends.

Tyler is greeted in Heaven by grandparents, James Ross, Sharian Howie, Thomas Howie and many other loving relatives.

Condolence from Kyle Larson on May 8th, 2022 1:07 pm

My brother and I grew up with Tyler and his brother TJ, they were such a consistent part of my childhood and teenage years. I was good friends with TJ, and every time I would go to their house, Tyler was always building something or working on something and I was always impressed with how naturally intelligent he was with those things. I remember him as a sweet kid who was kind, and a classic little brother. I didn’t know Tyler in his adult years, and I know he had some trouble along the way, but I can’t imagine that he ever lost that kindness and that little brother way about him. I am so sorry to TJ, Deb, Tim, and Pat as well as the rest of the family for this devastating loss.

Rest easy, Tyler. I hope you have found peace.

I can’t believe such a sweet, kind , funny young man has passed away so young. Deb and family I truly am heart broken hearing about Tyler’s passing, I pray that God has a plan for Tyler and that he lives on in that plan. I always was so happy to see him as a young man when the crew of them would show up at our house with a little bit of mischief in there eyes asking if a few of them could have a bonfire, but it was always Tyler that won me over. I will always remember Tyler he will never be forgotten. My prayers go out to your family may you find some peace in time. Love you Tyler Rest In Peace.
