Toni J. Fahrenkamp

On February 22, 1945, Toni was born to parents Roger and Ione Meyer in Faribault, MN. Toni was the youngest of three children, and enjoyed growing up with her siblings, Karen and Larry. Toni attended and graduated from Prior Lake High School.

After high school, Toni married Robert Trulson, and they soon had two sons, Kenny and John, who were Toni’s pride and joy. Toni and Robert eventually separated, and Toni reconnected with a high school boyfriend, Dennis Fahrenkamp. Toni and Dennis had initially met at a street dance in Shakopee back when Toni was 13 years old. They dated during high school and even went to prom together, so the two were able to pick up right where they left off years earlier. It wasn’t long before Dennis asked Toni to marry him. They set the date for February 29th (leap day), 1984. Toni only had three weeks to plan the wedding, but it was a beautiful ceremony held at a friend’s house in Prior Lake, MN.

After a few years of marriage, Toni and Dennis headed south, and Hernando, Mississippi soon became home. Over the years Toni enjoyed working as a part-time waitress and bartender. She always had a smile on her face and brought joy to all the customers she served. Toni loved going to the casino and making regular trips back to Minnesota to visit family and friends. Traveling was a passion of Toni’s. She and Dennis took many trips all around the world, including visits to Australia, Bangkok, Hawaii, and annual trips to visit family in Seattle. They also did a lot of traveling close to home. The two spent many weekends together at their cabin on the White River in Arkansas.

In Mississippi Toni was an active member of the VFW Auxiliary and attended Prince of Peace Lutheran Church. She also attended Shepherd of the Lake Lutheran Church in Minnesota. Toni was known all as outgoing, upbeat, and a true friend.

On Saturday, June 8, 2013, at age 68, Toni entered God’s arms. She will be missed as a devoted wife, caring mother, and loving grandma.

Forever loved, Toni will be remembered by, husband of 29 years, Dennis of Hernando, MS; sons, Kenny Trulson of Prior Lake, MN, John Trulson of Cloquet, MN; stepchildren, Jennifer Woxen, Kathy West, Troy Fahrenkamp (all of Washington); five grandchildren; one great-grandchild; Brother-in-law, Leroy Bohnsack of Prior Lake, MN; other loving relatives and close friends.

Toni is preceded in death by her parents; sister, Karen Bohnsack; brother, Larry Meyer.

The Celebration of Life Service is on Sunday, June 23, 2013 at 3:00 PM with visitation from 2:00-3:00 PM all at Ballard-Sunder Funeral Home, 4565 Pleasant Street, Prior Lake. Rev. Diana Hunstad will preside. Toni will be laid to rest at Spring Lake Cemetery.

The Fahrenkamp family is served with honor, care and compassion by Ballard-Sunder Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Prior Lake Chapel.
