My heart goes out to all of you, his family and his friends, after hearing of Tim’s death. I went to high school with Tim at Winona Cotter High. I haven’t seen him since high school but remember how sweet, funny and kind he was. I am so sorry for your painful loss. When our family moved from St Paul to Winona in grade school, Tim was the first kid to take my brother and I over to his house, to welcome us. I’ll never forget that.

When were younger, we joined Tim and his brothers/Dad on one of their Canadian fishing trips and had so much fun …while learning from the Speltz family on how to really fish. Many good memories with Tim and his brothers in Winona, St Stans, and Cotter.

Very shocked and saddened to hear of Tim’s passing. I was his teacher and golf coach at Cotter, and I remember Tim as a passionate competitor on the golf course with a ready smile and a sharp sense of humor in my English classroom. Though I have lost track of him over the years, it warms my heart to hear that he had a loving wife and three adventuresome sons to share with him his journey through life. May he Rest In Peace and know that he has touched the lives of many.

My fondest memory of Timmy is the Sunday football games at my house with his brother Tony. He was the son I never had. He would be my “go get my a beer during the game”. Guy. He would response “you got it old man”. Hahaha

He had a “take charge” attitude, got jobs done, and treated the people he worked with respect, and wasn’t stingy with dishing out wisdom when needed, reminding me of several first sergeants I knew in the Marines; earning much respect from myself. He kept the facility running and was a major part of the safety committee at work. I’ll remember him letting me park our camper trailer in the parking lot while our driveway was being replaced, among other things. My heart and prayers go out to his family and close friends.

I am sad to hear of Tims passing. I knew Tim many years ago when I worked at Westfield Golf in Winona.
Although we went our seperate ways as the years passed I have fond memories of our friendship. My condolences to his family and friends.

Dear Angela, Jack, Nicholas and Adam,

I share in your loss. I worked with Tim at Control Products and we became friends as we shared stories about our families, fishing, hunting, hockey and travel. I always heard about the big one the boys caught or the score of the last hockey game! We talked dog training frequently and he never failed to bring me a Wild Turkey for watching the dog. The best part was sharing a drink in my garage when he did. I am thankful to have known Tim as a friend and coworker.

My condolences to the entire Speltz family. My thoughts and prayers are with you. I attended St. Stan’s Elementary School and Cotter High School with Tim. We were in the same class and we were good friends. We would put on our ice skates during recess to play makeshift hockey at St. Stan’s and we played football together at Cotter. We did not keep in touch after graduation, but occasionally I would see him in-passing at the Christmas eve mass at St. Stan’s. I will forever remember his big smile and kind heart. He was always someone that I could count on. May he rest in peace.

Tim was my boss when I was a maintenance worker with Control Products. He was such a wonderful man.He always treated me with respect and he was always kind. He helped me when I was having a heart attack,he called the ambulance and made sure I was taken care of.I am in shock when I learned of his death.He was so gifted and talented in whatever he did.This is such a great loss.I just can’t believe it.He always supported me at work. He was a hands on person.I will miss him terribly.
