Terry Huggins, of Jordan, passed away on December 19, 2023 at the age of 63.
A Gathering of Family & Friends will be held at Ballard-Sunder Funeral & Cremation (104 First Street West) in Jordan on Monday, January 8, 2024 from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM with closing words and reflections at 1:00 PM.
Terry Lynn Messer was born on February 5, 1960 in Browerville, MN. She was the oldest of two children born to Gordan & Shirley (Stenger) Messer. Terry grew up in Bloomington, and she was always a spitfire.
When she was 17, she gave birth to her daughter, Tina. Seven years later, Terry’s son, Bobby was born. Terry loved being a mother. Although she endured a lot of hardship in her life, she always looked for the good in things. She also made sure her kids had everything they needed.
For a while it was just Terry and the kids, but in 1995, she met Pat Rief. They quickly fell in love and built a life together. In 2011, they eloped to South Dakota. Pat and Terry had a happy life together with their beloved dog, Chase.
Terry was a very hard worker. Throughout her life, she worked several different jobs, with some of her favorites being at TLC Café & Catering, Cater’s Café and Pauly’s in Chaska. Wherever she worked, Terry became fast friends with her coworkers. She currently worked the Drive Thru window at McDonald’s in Jordan where she brightened the day of all her customers and coworkers. Her positive energy and happy spirit will definitely be missed.
In her free time, Terry enjoyed going to the movies, collecting Barbies and traveling. Some of her favorite trips were to Nashville, the Bahamas and a Disney Cruise. Although Terry had many adventures in life, she was happiest when spending time with her grandsons. Jackson and Austin were the light of her life. Terry loved spoiling them with gifts and taking them to Valley Fair or just spending time with them. She absolutely loved being a grandma.
Terry was a happy, kind and loving woman. She will be missed and remembered always by her husband, Pat Rief; children, Tina Anderson and Bobby Huggins; grandsons, Jackson Shatek and Austin Huggins; other loving relatives and many dear friends.
Preceded in death by mother, Shirley (Don Gandee) Messer and father, Gordan Messer.

Terry was such a a nice lady. If I was outside with the dog and she was walking by, she would always stop so the dogs could sniff each other. She will definitely be missed by many.

Although we did not “know” each other, it made my day when Terry was at the drive thru window at McDonalds. She was so nice and cheerful. There is another new angel in heaven!

I am so sorry for you loss. I did not know Terry well, but I saw her every morning when I would stop for my coffee. She and I would always chat for a minute or two and I called her one of my “breakfast buddies”. You could see she had a good relationship with her co-workers and it only took me paying one time with a card for her to know and remember my name each morning I came.
I will miss her smiles in the mornings. While I still have the rest of my breakfast buddies, it will always feel as if something is missing. She was a truly wonderful woman.

for past five years Terry has been the first person I greeted each workday. Always smiling and helpful, greeted me by name each day. I know she will be missed. So sorry for you loss. May she rest in peace.

We are so sorry for your loss. Terry was always a joy to coversate with when she would come in to the store. We enjoyed her stories from her experiences at McDonald’s and would often compare them to our stories here at the holiday gas station. She will forever be missed by us.
