WEB Susan Reese

Susan A. Reese, age 75 of Prior Lake, passed away Monday, November 5, 2018. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, November 8, 2018 at 11AM with a visitation 1-hour prior, all at McKenna Crossing, 13810 Shepherds Path NW, Prior Lake. Pastor Karen Treat with officiate and Susan’s grandchildren will act as urnbearers.

On February 12, 1943 in St. Paul, parents Michael and Albertine (Pieper) Strom, welcomed their daughter into the world. She was one of four girls to grow up in West St. Paul. In her youth, Susan was athletic. She especially loved to play softball and be outdoors with her dog, Lady.

Following her graduation in 1961 from Henry Sibley High School in West St. Paul, Susan began working at West Publishing. Most of her career was spent with Blue Cross Blue Shield.

Susan was married to Edward Reese and their union was blessed with two sons. As a mother, Susan worked tirelessly for her children. Even when faced with difficult times, Susan’s generous spirit never wavered. She was an advocate for those who needed it most and always voiced her opinion.

Even when diagnosed with MS in 1985, Susan persevered—nothing slowed her down! She continued doing what she loved most. Cheering on the Vikings and Lynx, painting, and spending time with family and friends.

Susan’s family and friends always knew they were loved. Whether it was taking nature walks around McKenna or eating pizza on Wednesday nights, Susan enjoyed every moment with her grandchildren. During her seven years at McKenna, Susan made countless friends. She could often be found at happy hour, bingo, or Wii bowling.
Susan was an amazingly strong woman with a quick wit and great sense of humor. Her legacy of kindness and love will continue on with her children, Bill (Julia) Reese, Dan Reese; her grandchildren, Alycia Reese and Alex Reese; other relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Jeanne (Ken) Korngable, Nancy (Bill) Siedschlag, and Elizabeth (Ronald) Bruestle.

Susan was a special lady. She was a wonderful friend to my mom Marilyn. She would leave a treat on my moms shelf daily. Mom always got a kick out of seeing what Susan had left her.
Susan will forever be missed. So glad she and mom are back together playing cards and Wii bowling.
Hugs and love to the Reese family.

I always enjoyed our visits at the salon. Even if we didn’t have a good day, we always had a great conversation about life. She loved having her hair fixed and eyebrow waxed. She loved her family very much. I will miss her…❤️
