Steven Kirk Henning, age 70, of Belle Plaine, MN, formerly of Shakopee, MN, passed away peacefully with his beloved family present, the afternoon of Tuesday, June 12, 2018, at the Minneapolis VA Health Care Hospital.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, June 18 at 11 am, with a visitation two-hour prior, all at Our Lady of the Prairie Catholic Church, 200 East Church Street, Belle Plaine, MN. Father Michael Kaluza and Father Brian Lynch will preside. Steve’s pall bearers will be Shawn Harms, Warren Harms, Kenny Harms, Justin Lane, Harry McNeil and Andrew Nothwehr. He will be laid to rest next to his wife, at the Shakopee Catholic Cemetery.

On July 12, 1947, in Minneapolis, MN, Steve was born to the proud parents of Milan E and Clarice P (ZumBerge) Henning. He proudly served in the United States Air Force. Steve’s life was enriched marrying Diane Rae Lane on September 1, 1973 and welcomed a daughter, Nora.

The legacy of Steve will live on in the hearts of his daughter Nora (Troy) Wermerskirchen; grandchildren, Maxwell, Hannah, Caleb; mother, Clarice Henning; sisters, Renelle Nothwehr, Marcia (Rick) Deaton; nieces, nephews and other relatives.

There to greet Steve home was his wife, Diane and father, Milan.

To the family of Steve my sincere condolences. I grew up with Steve in Chaska and went to Chaska High School with him. He was a good friend! I am so sorry for your loss.

I am sorry to hear about the loss of your Father, and my condolences to you and your family. I grew up with Steve as he lived right across the street from us in Chaska. Steve was a good friend and we both attended school together in Chaska. We both enlisted in the U.S. Air Force at approximately the same time. Steve will be missed.
