Steven “Steve” Ted Lati, of Shakopee, MN, passed away at his residence on Monday, July 26, 2021.
A visitation will be held Thursday, August 19, 2021, from 11:00-12:00 Noon with a luncheon to follow at Ballard-Sunder Funeral & Cremation (833 S. Marschall Rd.) in Shakopee.
On July 13, 1952, Steve was born in Hibbing, MN to Herman and Elma Lati. Steve lived on his 40-acre farm in Cherry, MN, until the age of 10. Steve then moved to Richfield, MN, where he graduated high school in 1970. Following graduation, Steve attended Red Wing Vocational Institute and Normandale Community College.
Steve joined the Teamster Union Local 120 and was an over the road semi-trailer truck driver. After the birth of his three children, Steve drove locally and was in the industry for over thirty years where he resided in Bloomington, MN.
Steve enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. He was an excellent handyman and was an avid Minnesota Wild and Vikings fan.
Steve was proceeded in death by his parents and son, Adam Lati. Steve is survived by his children, son, Chad (Andrea) Lati and daughter Kaylan (Brian) Haber; grandsons, Gavin and Nolan Lati; granddaughters, Kamryn Lati, Hayden and Emerson Haber; sister, Sharon (John) Brandt; and former spouse, Denise Lati.

Let’s talk Back In The Day: This is where Phil and I met Steve. Over the years of The Hockey Ladder (getting better at hockey) this is where we met Chad and his family. Oh What Fun Times! You have to remember that the ladder of your kid and team gets better and that’s where you have a “ New Family “ Your Life Becomes Hockey ❤️$ and not much personal life!
