Stella’s Life Story

Stella E. Reinke was born on December 2, 1915 in Belle Plaine, MN to parents August and Olga (Binder) Ahrens. Stella was united in marriage to Charles Henry Reinke on August 26, 1937 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Belle Plaine. They were blessed with two children, Eileen and Joan.

Stella and Charlie farmed just outside of Jordan from 1937 to 1959 and then moved into town. Stella remained in that house until recently when she moved into the Belle Plaine Lutheran Home.

In her early years she helped at the farm milking cows and hauling hay and doing general farm chores. She enjoyed embroidery, crocheting, mowing the grass and had a special love for the outdoors especially watching cardinals. She and her husband Charlie were able to travel to the west coast to visit family and also went sightseeing into Canada.

Known for her caring and sharing nature, Stella entered God’s arms on the evening hours of Thursday September 13, 2012 at the age of 96 years, 9 months, 11 days.

Forever loved, Stella will be deeply missed by her daughters, Eileen Ellingboe and Joan Frey, both of Shakopee; grandchildren, Allen (Robin) Ellingboe, Mark (fiancé, Leah Duff) Ellingboe, Kevin Ellingboe, Gregg (Anita) Frey, Joleen (William) Brandt; great-grandchildren, Christopher and Meghan Ellingboe, Dylan, Brandon and Kylen Ellingboe, Logan, Emily, Samantha Jo and Brooke Frey; step grandchildren, Hope and Jordan Miller; sister-in-law, LaVerne Ahrens and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Stella is preceded in death by her husband, Charles Reinke; parents, August and Olga (Binder) Ahrens; sons-in-law, Richard Ellingboe and Norman Frey; great granddaughters (twins), Hailey Rose and Kayla Renae Christian; sisters, Viola Stier, Erma Buszmann, Ruby Teschendorf and one sister who died in infancy; brothers, Wilmer and Raymond Ahrens; sister-in-law, Adeline Ahrens; brothers-in-law, Otto Stier, Clarence Buszmann and Dick Teschendorf.

Stella’s pall bearers will be Allen Ellingboe, Mark Ellingboe, Kevin Ellingboe, Gregg Frey, Joleen Brandt, William Brandt, Manley Krueger.

Visitation will be on Sunday September 16, 2012 from 12:00 noon to 2:00 p.m. at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Jordan. The Celebration of Life Service will follow at 2:00 p.m. Pastor Jeremy Glowicki will preside. Stella will be laid to rest next to her husband Charles Reinke at Spirit Hill Cemetery, Jordan.

The Reinke family is served with honor, care and compassion by Ballard-Sunder Funeral Home, Jordan Chapel.
