Skye Web Obituary

Skye Overson went home to her Heavenly Father far too early on December 22, 2019. She was just two years old.

A Celebration of Skye’s Life will be held on Monday, January 6, 2020. Funeral service is at 12:00 Noon with a time of gathering from 10:30 AM – 12:00 Noon at River Valley Church in Shakopee. Pastors Zeus Vital and John Bogle will preside. Ryan Peterson, Jordan Bondley, Joe Pekarna, and Sean Thayer will act as pallbearers, and Skye will be laid to rest at Dawn Valley in Bloomington.

On November 22, 2017, Skye Elizabeth Overson was born. She just couldn’t wait to come into the world, and she was born at only 22 weeks and 6 days gestation. Her parents fell in love with her immediately. Andrew and Liz had to wait 22 days before they could hold their beautiful daughter, but it was well worth the wait. Skye taught her parents about strength, patience, compassion, humor that goes beyond words and unconditional love.

Skye also captured the hearts of her extended family, neighbors, friends and medical providers. She always had a bright smile on her face and brought so much joy into the world. In her two short years, Skye made a huge impact on the world. She left a handprint on the hearts of so many people and taught everyone around her what it meant to be Skye Strong.

Although Skye is now in Heaven, her memory will live on in the hearts of her parents, Andrew & Liz Overson; little brother, Jet Overson; grandparents, Ron & Cynthia Overson, Susan (Jeff Conkling) Rindal and Mark Rendahl; aunts and uncles, Anna & Tom Cawcutt and Jessika & Jim Schneider; cousins, Layla, Cade and Madeline; other loving relatives and many wonderful friends.

I have been following your posting on fb and sent my prayers and thought for Skye and your family every day. I visited my children and grandchildren and returning home on December 22, the day Skye passed. In the mid of chaotic holidays travel, flight delayed, missing flight. I ended in Los Angeles airport………… long story short I met this beautiful little girl name Skye. She look at me with a big smile and introduced herself, “ Hi I’m Skye with a big smile,”. I asked her parents if I could give her a hug, they say yes. I silently look up with a teary eyes and whisper god you just received a beautiful angel. This was no coincidence, I know god made this happen for a reason. I will always remember Skye in my heart. Even though I have never met Skye, but have a special place in my heart forever. I am so sorry for your loss. My condolences goes out to you and your family as your going through this difficulty time❤️❤️❤️
