Paul John Reisinger, 82, of Jordan, passed away in the early morning hours of July 14,2016 following a brief illness.
A visitation will be held Monday, July 18 from 4-7 PM at Ballard-Sunder Funeral and Cremation in Jordan. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, July 19, 2016 at 11:00 AM with visitation one hour prior at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Jordan. Fr. Timothy Yanta presiding. Paul will be laid to rest at Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery at Fort Ripley.
Paul was born to Alphonse and Rosa Maria Reisinger in Collegeville, MN on August 24, 1933. He graduated from St. John’s Preparatory High School in 1951 and went on to study bookkeeping at St. Cloud Business College. He was drafted into the army. Upon his discharge he took several jobs in bookkeeping and sales before following his father and brothers into carpentry where he made his career. He was a skilled woodworker and enjoyed creating beautiful projects in his spare time. He also had a passion for music- playing concertina for many events and gatherings through the years. Paul was an outdoors-man who instilled in many a love and appreciation for nature.
Paul was blessed with two daughters, Maria and Julia. He married Val (Fladung) Thielman on November 27, 1998 and they spent many wonderful years together.
Paul will be missed and remembered always by his wife, Valeria ‘Val’ Thielman; daughters, Maria (Clark) Cruikshank and Julia (Roger Sundean) Reisinger; Stepson, Craig (Colleen) Turner: grandchildren, Catherine (Alex) Wilson, Carl Turner, James (Monica) Turner, Monica Turner, Brian Turner and Daniel Turner; great grandchildren, Connor and Carson Wilson and Henry Turner: former spouse Carroll Dick; sisters, Caroline Maurer, S.Marie Reisinger OSB, Clara (Jack) Knutson, Rosemarie Henn, Virginia (John) Pru; sister in law, Judy Reisinger as well as many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife Lillian Reisinger; parents; brothers, Aloys (Jo) Reisinger, Herman Reisinger and Alphonse Reisinger Jr.; brothers in law, Edward Maurer and Donald Henn.
The family would like to thank the wonderful doctors, nurses and staff in the ICU at Mankato Hospital for the superb care they provided Paul in his last days.

Dear Val….. I’ve missed you and Paul often, especially when the first Saturday of the month roles around and I recall all of the good times I had sitting next to Paul and his concertina. He knew all (and more) of the tunes my own father taught me. It was such a treat to be able to play along with Paul. But even now, I think of both of you and the blessings you brought to Blackduck Senior Center. I treasure the recordings he made for me.
