Patricia “Pat” (Cahill) Kahnke, age 74, of Shakopee, MN, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 29, 2019, at Abbott Northwestern Hospital, in Minneapolis, MN.

A Celebration of Life will be on Saturday, June 8 at 11 am, with one-hour visitation prior, at Ballard-Sunder Funeral and Cremation 833 South Marschall Road, Shakopee. Pastor Diana Hunstad will preside. Family interment will be on Monday, June 10 at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.

Patricia Kathleen was born on March 31, 1945, in Mankato, MN, to parents, Raphael and Blanche (Convey) Cahill. She graduated from Janesville High School in 1963. Pat furthered her education at Mankato State University, graduating in 1967. She married Gary Kahnke on June 8, 1968. After 33 years, Pat retired from St. Francis Hospital in Shakopee, as a Medical Technologist.

Pat is survived by husband, Gary; son, Aaron and Shiloh Kahnke; daughter, Leah Porth; grandchildren, Ewan Kahnke, Sawyer Kahnke, Lucy Porth; sister, Ruth and Gary Paur; brother, Terry and Barb Cahill; sister-in-law, Bonnie Smith; many nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.

Pat is preceded in death by parents, Raphael and Blanche; parents-in-law, Hubert (H.G.) and Margaret Kahnke; brothers-in-laws, Lyle Kahnke, Robert Jay Smith; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Warren and Dorothy Kahnke.

I have so many good memories of the years we worked together!

Pat Kahnke was a woman of substance. In everything she did—work, family, gardening, travel, she did it with gusto. The picture of Pat shows that zest for life shining out of her eyes. We feel privileged to have been friends with Pat and Gary for over 40 years, both here and in Chicago. We miss her greatly
